Crafting in most games is holding a button but this one makes you do the whole woodworking job by hand - Measure, saw, shape and sand every piece - Photograph it and sell it online for likes - A drone collects each order you sell Game is Made by Hand.

So the AI cloning indie games stuff is kinda shitty. I have an idea on how the AI community can help. Let's come up with gameplay trailers of incredibly stupid ideas, and then intentionally glaze them up ala "I want this on a t-shirt" Let's feed AI cloners some real SLOP!

AI cloning games is a real issue but Drunken Goddess Reflux is a game that needs to worry about it the least If your game relies on a specific unique mechanic and nothing else, then yes you are the most at risk for being AI cloned and owned, because the value people get from the game is strictly the mechanical experience. If someone dropped a clone of like "Game About Digging A Hole" five minutes after it came out, the player could get the exact same experience and not need to look for the original But if your selling point is something that AI can't clone (or audiences reject when AI does clone it), then players will have to find the original. DGR's main selling point is (presumably) the art style, design, and character writing, all of which AI have real limitations in and/or players will reject. Furthermore these days, people connect to the story AROUND a piece of media as well. For games that means they're emotionally attached to the development and release of the game. (advice to devs: if your game isn't something that's easy to clone you need to be posting about it a LOT, the struggles and successes, and connect to people emotionally.) Because of the drama DGR went through, people are already attached to the game and again any clones would be rejected I think it's a bad idea to not do a demo, but since people are already interested in DGR I don't think it'll kill the game or anything. It'll probably still sell really well upon release, and marketing will get a big boost from fanart of the demon girl in various states of undress (and if the devs are smart 90% of their marketing budget is set aside for commissions)
A developer canceled a planned public demo over worries that AI could copy the game and release a clone first. Drunken Goddess Reflux was set for a public demo on October 19. Alliance Arts will instead run a closed playtest with restrictions on sharing and streaming. The studio says the issue goes beyond piracy. They fear players could study the demo’s gameplay and presentation, then use AI to clone it “We are concerned that… works imitating or replicating this game’s presentation and gameplay could be quickly produced using AI or other tools and released ahead of the game’s launch.”

No, building One-Shot Gimmick games is dead. There has to be more to your game than what a 10 second social media clip or a demo can give. If all your game is, is more of the same. Then yeah, your game was already low-effort slop. Which is why AI can copy it so easily.
Building in public is dead. An indie dev shared an early preview of his game where you punch walls incrementally to escape. It hit 4.7M views. Within 25 hours, a copy was already live on Roblox. His Steam page isn't even up yet, and the clone will probably outearn him.

For the first time ever, I'm informed that Bluesky users love scraping, free culture, and training models on public Internet data!

What? Everybody on Bluesky has always known that. They got off X cause they didn't want *exclusively Elon* scraping their data

We just lost a legendary animator today 😔 Some animators bring characters to life. Loyd Price helped shape entire worlds that generations grew up loving. 🕊️ Aardman animations has announced the passing of Loyd Price, a gifted animator, mentor and longtime creative force who dedicated more than 30 years to the studio. Over the decades, Price rose to become Aardman’s Head of Animation, helping guide both the performances audiences saw on screen and the generations of animators who followed him. His career stretched across some of stop-motion animation’s most beloved films, including: - Chicken Run — Supervising animator - Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit — Supervising animator - The Nightmare Before Christmas — Animator - Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave — Animator - Wallace & Gromit’s Cracking Contraptions — Co-director and writer - Shaun the Sheep Movie — Animation supervisor - A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon — Animation supervisor - The Pirates! Band of Misfits — Animation supervisor - Early Man — Animation supervisor - Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death — Animator - Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget — Animation supervisor On The Curse of the Were-Rabbit alone, Price led a team of 30 animators, helping bring Wallace, Gromit and an entire cast of characters to life frame by painstaking frame. His work as supervising animator also helped shape Chicken Run, while his career connected Aardman’s classic shorts to its modern feature-film era. Stop-motion is built one tiny movement at a time. Loyd Price spent decades making those movements feel alive, and teaching others how to do the same. The characters will keep moving. His influence will keep moving with them. Rest in paradise, Loyd Price. 🤍

Gotta love the people who love making statements without doing any research at all. People telling me that Kamo had ALWAYS had such high prices don't know what they're talking about. In 2022 Kamo's price for a full body Live2D art (rigging not included) used to be 1500$. And then at the start of 2023 the price went up to 12000$ (rigging not included). Why would such a jump happen? Why in November of 2022 a commission from Ironmouse happened to drop by! As is always the case, a commission from a big Vtuber is treated as a free pass to install bitch barriers and milk as much money as possible from people unopposed just because they now have clout™ and a legion of clout hungry sheep who would defend such actions and treat their work as though they're made by a god when nothing has actually changed at all in their work to justify the new price. There is no quality or skill involved in the pricing whatsoever. Just ego and greed. Freakig clout and status based markets...

A U.S. congressman wants to change how we legally “own” video games. Rep. Ritchie Torres has announced plans to introduce the Power To The Players Act, a bill that would direct the FTC to create rules protecting consumers who buy video games. The proposal would give players three basic rights: >The right to own the games they purchase, rather than simply receiving a revocable license >The right to keep playing games after online servers are shut down, through an offline mode >The right to transfer or resell games they own Torres argues that if a company can take a game away simply by shutting down its servers, then the consumer didn’t really buy the game in the first place. Torres also hopes the legislation could eventually establish a precedent for ownership rights across other parts of the digital economy: “If you pay for it, you own it.”

Covering this in the morning The fact a Anti-Censorship Journalist known as Niche Gamer turned out to be Pro-censorship and will use Kiwifarms to dox you is not what I expected to see Right now they are deleting tweets and hiding evidence. A few screenshots have been found with damning evidence
why on earth did this faggot need to look for my dox from something that didnt exist when nichegamer first reached out to me? why did you need my dox during a discussion where you got called out for your procensorship bullshit? and why have you now decided to unblock me? the more you say the worse it has been. NO ONE is taking your side. literally no one. you also lied about the contents of it to try to get other people to go to it in hopes someone would harm me. you literally attempted to invoke them when they had nothing to do with it. you tried to distract when all of this about been about YOU and YOUR words and lying to your audience. weird how my dox wasnt needed when you were ASKING ME FOR HELP. weird how you actually have a post saying you were never anti censorship which means you straight up LIED TO ME
