I’ve attended a lot of business events over the last 6 months and I’ve been chronically asking leaders about systems, structure, scale and performance and quite frankly , I’m almost going bald from thinking & thinking but I won’t stop. And now that @moonshotbytc has invited me as a guest for Moonshot 2026, please I’m calling dibs on Uche Ofodile, especially to have a conversation about her work around leadership infrastructure.🙏🏽🙏🏽 So far, I’ve been leading my team with 3 doses of “Ko ni su mi, Ko ni re mi” daily and she must have something for me. Is there anyone else who’s curious about any speakers on the line up ? Let’s form our strategic alliances now so we can exchange notes please. Elemi lo ma last. 😂🙏🏽🙏🏽 Btw, cop your tickets oooooo: moonshot.techcabal.com

You see, as I build my consulting practice, one thing I keep thinking about is: How do I scale a business without making its operations more complicated than necessary? More customers, more hires, and more revenue can sound great, especially for a numbers person. But how do you ensure your processes, team structure, and execution can actually support that growth? I want to hear from founders and operators who have figured this out, and those still working through it. That way I’ll have more answers the next time I build a system or go into a consultation. @moonshotbytc invited me this year, and this is one of the conversations I really want to have there. Anyway, if you could ask me, or tag any experienced founder, professional, or operator and ask them one question about scaling a business or making one work, what would it be? I’ll be at the National Theatre, Lagos, on October 28–29. Join me o 😉

sometimes, the decision that changes your life isn’t the most glamorous one. It can be simply recognising that where you are is no longer where you want to be and doing something about it. which brings me to @moonshotbytc by @TechCabal .

There’s something I want to learn from and your opinion (if you’re reading now) matters. I can’t completely say this is true but I’m assuming that somehow, Shalom might have thought of “holding back in launching the product”, because it’s a really common thing to many things that has happened to me and I can tag as career growth. A good example was me choosing to be an ardent attendees of industry events (in tech, businesses, and career) even before I started fronting my marketing career with EVENT MARKETING, and it has turned out to be an experience reservoir for doing good work for my clients/employers. I didn’t decide to attend @moonshotbytc early, until I considered how much of an impact it’ll have on my African Fintech Storytelling if I plan well for the several brands that will be in attendance. If you’ve ever been in a similar situation where you have to decide on something that might affect your career, how did you end up handling it?

Early this year, leaving my role as Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Vendyz Technology to go full-time consulting was one of the scariest career decisions I have ever made. On paper, I had a title, a team, a responsibility and something I have helped build. It was interesting to see the shock on people’s faces when they heard I wasn’t the founder or a co-founder. I really missed doing that; however, I knew I wanted to build something of my own around the work I had spent years doing: helping businesses fix how they operate, build better systems at 0 cost (where possible) and actually execute. When I told the team I was leaving, it was really hard for them to process emotionally. They were actually my babies. I handled recruitment for both the technical and non technical team and scaled our work force from a team of two (just me and the founder) to a team of 14 amazing individuals and 30 ambassadors that served as a growth engine for the company, while still owning for core functions like marketing, growth, legal and compliance, operations excellence, people and culture, customer success, community, partnerships and strategy. So you should know I was especially attached to them. But I left. Everything has not been easy since then. There have been moments where I’ve questioned the decision especially when things felt uncertain. But for the most part, I’m still glad I made it. Should I be honest? Courage isn’t knowing the decisions will work. It’s being willing to make the decision and figure out as you go. That’s one reason the Courage & Conviction theme for @moonshotbytc caught my attention. And oh child, I will be there this year. What’s one career decision you were scared to make but are glad you did? 😅

I went back to school at 27 for my first degree in Mass Communication & Media Studies. First time in a classroom in 10 years, studying online while juggling work, my personal brand, my projects and my personal life. For context, I left secondary school in 2016, at 17. Two years later, I became a mum. My daughter is 7 now, and I turn 28 next month. Over the years, I have realised how many opportunities I may have missed out on simply because I didn't have a university degree. I had the skills. I would see roles I was obviously qualified for, but I couldn't even pursue some of them because I didn't have the certificate they required. That's one of the reasons I decided to go back to school. A degree gives me leverage. It opens doors and gets me into rooms I might not ordinarily have access to. I am very much an advocate of "school is not a scam." Around the same time, I made another big decision, moved out of the rent-to-own condo I had lived in for two years into a two-bedroom flat. My old place was a self-contained room where my bed and work desk occupied the same space. For two years, I tried to make it work, but I constantly felt restrained. I remember telling my friends that the neighbourhood felt like a prison. As a creative, freelancer and remote worker, I needed an environment that would help me thrive. There was very little around me to support that. Most people in the neighbourhood were business owners, petty traders and market people, and it took time for some of my neighbours to understand that sitting in front of my laptop at home meant I was actually working. There were no co-working spaces, no libraries, and hardly anywhere to go for leisure or to meet people in my industry. To access those things, I had to leave the neighbourhood, and that came with additional costs (we are talking almost 500% increase in rent). I wanted more comfort, more room to think and work, and an environment that gave me a better chance of becoming the person I was working towards. So I moved. Of course, there's the question I haven't completely answered, what happens when the rent is due again a year from now? What if I can't afford it? That fear is real. But so was my need for a different environment. These decisions haven't come without consequences. I am still trying to find my feet, juggling school, work, my brand, my projects and my personal life. I have been away from the social scene for about a month because I have been moving my things, setting up the new place and trying to settle into this new phase of my life. Both decisions have cost me a lot of money. Honestly, I didn't know how I was going to afford either of them. Can I comfortably afford everything right now? No. I am still a broke Lagos babe. But I made the decisions anyway. And somehow, as I said yes to these challenges, provisions kept coming. I definitely do not have everything figured out. I still have questions, fears and days when the weight of everything I'm trying to do feels like a lot. But I also know that staying where I was wasn't going to get me where I wanted to go. @moonshotbytc invited me to this year's event, and its theme, Courage & Conviction: Building for a New World, has had me thinking about these decisions. Sometimes, you have to commit to the future you believe is possible before you know exactly how you'll get there. Not because you're certain everything will work out, but because you know why you need to try. What's a decision you've made before you knew exactly how you would make it work?

From Ojuelegba to @TechCabal 🚌 They wrote about how a danfo game I built in my spare time ended up on your timeline this week. Thank you to everyone who played, shared a scorecard and told me what to fix. You made this happen. Read it: techcabal.com/2026/09/29/how… Play it: danfo.horpey.dev #LagosRun
I built a game where you drive a danfo through Lagos 🚌 Load passengers, dodge okadas, beat the traffic. Plays in your browser, no download. danfo.horpey.dev/ #LagosRun #Lagos #IndieGame

Thank you TechCabal 🙌🏾
One Nigerian developer ( @eureka_seamless ) has turned the familiar chaos of Lagos traffic, from Danfos (the popular Lagos yellow buses) and bus stops to potholes and traffic jams, into a playable experience. The game has been getting attention because it feels instantly familiar. It takes something millions of Nigerians experience every day and reimagines it as a digital world. Here’s what we know about it. Will you be playing? #techcabal #socialcontent #danfogame
