I set myself the goal of releasing 8 of my best images in a year.

A kaleidoscope.
The first release for A Year in Abstract.
With a project this big, I wanted the first release to be special.
To me, “abstract” means infinite possibilities, in life and in art, as long as we stay open and don’t take everything at face value. It has been my compass in recent years.
This image has been in my portfolio for a while. It’s one of my favorite water abstracts, but it never had the right home. It didn’t fit any collection, and I didn’t want to release it as a random 1/1. It fits perfectly here, as the opening to this creative journey.

I am thrilled to announce that the @MuseumModernArt has acquired the diptych of the Mother and Daughter from my Invisible Line series. It was acquired through the generosity of Lori Ordover via Kopeikin Gallery. I love to think about how these images and their story will now be preserved into the future and share wall space with works from many artists that have influenced the way I see the world.

I want to share this from @AmanRasouli_. Her meme card, "Choosing Light," is currently in third place, and I cannot wait to see this get minted to the Memes. It should be in first already. She is an Afghan woman using her camera to fight against gender discrimination (truly very dark oppression) and for justice in Afghanistan under the Taliban. The piece itself is beautiful. The truth behind "Choosing Light", my new meme card submission for @6529Collections 💎
This interview is from a documentary I made before 2021. I created it as someone who has been using art for 12 years to fight against gender discrimination and for justice in Afghanistan. I wanted to inspire other girls, girls like me, who grew up with the heavy burden of "having no identity", to start their own struggle. Back then, I risked everything to make this film, never imagining that just a few years later, the Taliban would return and seize power again.
When everything turned into a nightmare in 2021, I fell into a deep darkness. I felt defeated and wanted to leave everything behind. But in that silence, I found my truth: My art is not just a career; it is my protest. It is my scream. It is my 12-year-long war against being silenced.
I realized that if I have been placed on this path for over a decade, it is because I have a calling. I refuse to quit. I choose to rise again because I want my success to be a beacon of hope for others. "Choosing Light" was born from the belief that the only person who can save you is yourself, and I am here to stay, to succeed, and to inspire. 🕊
