The cancel culture of the right in full flood. The Trumpists taking their policy lead from the authoritarian left. The celebration of Kirk’s murder is disgusting. But the right to freedom of expression means the right to offend, or it means nothing. Vance’s Munich lecture to Europe’s elite about freedom of expression turned out to be nothing but hypocrisy, as we feared at the time.

Remember that Islamification is primarily the work of the UK’s liberal elite. They kid themselves they are fighting Islamophobia. But they are doing what comes naturally to them, bringing the forms of colonial rule back home: ethnic/religious divide-and-rule. See also…🧵

So much UK political discourse is based on a redundant Atlanticist fantasy. Nobody on any side in UK wanted to admit that the Chagos deal was always primarily serving US interests… …as @thephilippics pointed out on TNS back in October: thenorthernstar.online/2024/……

No surprises here. As @thephilippics pointed out on TNS back in October: “from start to finish, Britain’s policies in the islands have been effected at the behest of the US.” thenorthernstar.online/2024/…

A promising follow-up to the Chagos decision. If the British nation is to have a future, the state will have to give up its globalist pretensions.

We're not going to GET a radical Labour government. In fact, PR may be the only route to clearing away the zombified Labour Party and allowing genuinely radical alternatives to emerge - as we argue in Taking Control.
Fine piece from the always-interesting Labour historian @richardmarcj demonstrating how both the EU and proportional representation would constrain a Labour government seeking to implement radical policy measures. thecritic.co.uk/issues/july-…

Replying to @BrankoMilan
@BrankoMilan is right. The 21st C has been barren intellectually. But the problem is ours to solve. If we stop setting out from concepts we inherited from the 20th C and instead think carefully about the circumstances we inherited, we can find the concepts we need in the 21st.
It is remarkable how intellectually barren is the 21st C. People either repeat trivialities of the End of History which are clearly at odds w/ reality, or China (or even more so Russia) tries to develop an ersatz ideology, or Islam decides to appeal only to itself.
