🚨 WHO KILLED DEPUTY LEWIS? 🚨
On 02/21, Ft. Bend County Deputy Kenneth Lewis stopped to help with a crash on I-10. While serving others in our community, a vehicle struck and killed him.
FBI Houston is now assisting @houstonpolice with this case. We urge you to call 713-222-TIPS (8477) for up to a $5,000 reward! #HouNews

Heads up, Texas: @TxDPS is rolling out a new driver license design.
Starting today, Texas driver license and identification cards will have a new look. The new card design includes increased security features and is made of tamper-resistant polycarbonate material that is difficult to reproduce. Previously issued cards are still valid until their new expiration date.

Securing the Texas Border remains one of my top priorities!
I was proud to stand with many of my colleagues & Governor @GregAbbott_TX yesterday in Fort Worth at the @TXSheriffs 147th Annual Training, as he signed SB 8 into law, which empowers all Sheriff’s departments to participate in the 287G program, giving them federal immigration authority to deport violent criminals! He also signed SB 36 into law, which establishes the new Homeland Security Department within DPS so we can continue to Secure the Texas Border!
I will continue to fight to make sure we secure the Texas border!

It was an honor to join Governor @GregAbbott_TX, US Border Czar @RealTomHoman, and my #txlege colleagues at the @TxSheriffs Association of Texas Conference in Fort Worth yesterday for the signing of SB 8 and SB 36. These bills establish a Homeland Security Division at Texas Department of Public Safety and require Texas counties to participate in the 287(g) Program - ensuring illegal aliens are identified, detained, and removed from our county. Border security is essential to ensuring public safety in our communities. #txlege

These laws will boost our coordination with the Trump Admin & establish the Homeland Security Division in Texas DPS.
Partnering with President Trump & Border Czar Homan, we’ll keep the border secure.

Floods hit hard in Texas.
And while most people were running for cover, first responders were diving into the water—swimming through flooded apartments to pull people out.
No spotlight. No viral video crew. Just doing the job.
So the next time someone takes a cheap shot at law enforcement or questions why we do what we do—
show them this.
We don’t do it for the thanks.
But we’ll never stop standing up for the ones who show up when it counts.
