ALT Dangerous cold is expected again this weekend along with gusty winds resulting in wind chills below 5 degrees likely and subzero wind chills possible in some locations. Frostbite can occur quickly and hypothermia is likely with prolonged exposure to these temperatures. Long duration hard freeze could lead to damage to exposed pipes and water main breaks being likely. Continued power outages and residual snow and ice cover, resulting in slick roadways and difficult travel, in the northwest Delta will continue to make the cold even more dangerous. Gusty winds may also complicate any remaining restoration efforts. Cold conditions will persist into Sunday, but lighter winds will decrease concern for wind chills but lower temperatures as low as 10 to 15 degrees.

ALT There is a threat for strong winds as arctic air surges into the area tonight through Saturday afternoon. Aside from creating dangerous wind chill readings, these winds could become strong enough to damage trees, especially those already weakened or damaged by the recent ice storm. This could also complicate any remaining power restoration efforts.
