Almighty. Remove our attachment to worldly things. Instead, make our hearts attached to You. Make us prioritise You. Keep our hearts pure and always obedient in Your Path, no matter what’s going on in our lives. Aameen.

I’ve noticed a pattern in marriages among immigrants in the UK, particularly those marriages that eventually break down. Any bad behaviour you tolerate from your partner while you’re still in Nigeria is likely to become the major reasons for conflict or divorce when you move abroad. The change in environment, the pressure of settling into a new country, and the realities of life abroad can expose problems that were already there. And more often than not, it’s the same behaviour you overlooked back home that eventually becomes the breaking point. I’ve always held this opinion: relocation doesn’t break a marriage; it only exposes the bad marriage you bring into it.

I’ve learned to stop overextending myself for people. Not everyone has the heart to appreciate the things you do for them. Sometimes, your genuine intentions are misunderstood, and what you do out of love is seen as a performance or as though you expect something in return. I’ve learned that not everyone will understand your heart, and that’s okay. Protecting your peace and knowing when to pull back is also important.

When people’s marriages hit the rock or going through turbulent moment, don’t be quick to judge anyone or pick a side. You were never there from the start.

I think regardless of the ship , be an affirmative person because rn there is pandemic of people trying to cheat others. If you’re a gentle person like me that doesn’t like saying things when you’re being offended or facing discomfort, just run away abeg. People are wicked

In today’s world you can’t afford to be a gentle soul , everyone is looking for a way to cheat you. Open your eyes , think with yourbrain , when being involved with someone and you have doubts then you should talk to third parties.Set boundaries regardless of the person involved

Whoever knows that lady should better tell her the simple truth. Nobody can divorce you without your knowledge, except it’s forged. Get a lawyer to challenge it and seek appropriate redress including maintenance of the children. Except your children’s father is dead, it’s not your sole responsibility as a mother to take care of them, and provided you do not desire to weaponise the children to fight the man. That’s the only way to protect herself and the children. Setting up camera to cry won’t solve the problem. Many people are just interested in the gist and pity party; and they will move on with their lives or to another gist that is trending. Salam.

I’ve been following Alimat rebuild story, and honestly, all I can say is that the man probably never imagined his wife would come online to share her own side of the story, especially because she’s a hijabi. He probably thought she would remain silent and continue to cover everything up. And this is exactly why some men treat women badly because they assume we would never speak up, our modesty, values, or fear of public judgement will keep us silent forever. I love this generation that has embraced story time, because so many stories are still waiting to be told! Some men have enjoyed the protection of women’s silence for far too long.

This is exactly how I feel. Support whoever you want to support. Sing their praises, defend them, campaign for them, and do whatever you want. Nobody expects everyone to support the same candidate. But if you have the voice to defend this government at every opportunity, you should also have the voice to call them out when they fail. You cannot be loud in their defence and suddenly develop selective amnesia when Nigerians are bearing the consequences of their policies. During the 2023 campaign, President Tinubu stood in Ogun State and told Nigerians complaining about fuel prices not to worry, that he would reduce them. The day he was sworn in, fuel prices tripled. Now, barely three years later, we are talking about prices around ₦1,300. Over three years in, can anyone honestly say the cost of living is better? Yet some people are still more concerned about defending the government than confronting the reality Nigerians are living with. Beyond that, there are legitimate concerns about the priorities of this government, from healthcare and education to the general welfare of Nigerians. These are the things we should be questioning, regardless of who we support. Where is your voice when people are genuinely suffering? If your voice only comes alive when someone criticises this government but disappears when Nigerians demand accountability, then you are not holding the government to any standard. You are simply defending your preferred candidate, no matter the cost. Support your candidate all you want, but please, let your conscience not disappear simply because it is your preferred candidate in power. When people complain about the hardship, you don’t always have to jump to the government’s defence. Sometimes, Nigerians are genuinely suffering, and that alone should matter to you. If you can find your voice to defend them, you should also find your voice to demand accountability from them. That is what fairness should look like. Your loyalty to a politician should never be greater than your concern for the people living with the consequences of their decisions.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with working or affiliating with the government. Take their money, defend them, sing their praises. That’s all within your prerogative. But when the government you’re choosing to affiliate with is responsible for mass hunger, pains and suffering then you’re very well in the wrong and there’s no amount of gaslighting and manipulation tactics you want to deploy, you simply cannot erase the realities of the people who have suffered at the hands of the reforms and “tough decisions” this government has made. I don’t think we truly realize that people can no longer afford to live. I’ll give you an example. My mechanic is at Obalende, Lagos Island. So whenever I go there, I like to eat street food. That tiny meat we used to decorate the top of our plate was once N20. Now it’s N200. A spoon of beans is now N500 and the cheapest amount of jollof rice you can buy is N500. Now I should be able to afford food and eat till I’m satisfied if the government is working, right? Sadly, that’s not the case. People now rationalize what they eat, when they eat. Balance diet is out the window, that means on an average, we are all unhealthy. Let’s do the maths. Jollof 2 spoons 1,000 Beans 2 spoons 1,000 1 egg is 250 2 beef is 400 Takeaway pack is 150 Bottled water 200 Before you submit your rebuttal, go to your kitchen and put 2 spoons of rice and beans in a plate and look at the quantity. If you don’t have rice at home, then why exactly would you want to attack this? Can’t you see the problem? It costs approximately N3,000 to feed. If you have to eat twice that’s N6,000. Multiply this by eating everyday in a month. That’s N90,000 for one person without any dependents. It now costs 90k to eat an unbalanced and unhealthy meal in a month. Minimum wage is 70,000 and this covers every aspect of life including feeding. The alternative is shortening your ration. I’m losing my mind as I’m typing this because this is actually unbelievable. Now, I’d spend more than 3k at Obalende because I’m able to afford it. But there are millions of Nigerians who can’t, who earn lower than the minimum wage. That means if they’re reading this, seeing someone spend 3k on a meal would be considered a waste because asides all the other things they need money for: transportation, bills, emergencies and other psychological needs, spending three thousand naira out of the money they’ve labored for to eat, is just ridiculous. This is the reality today. It is okay to defend this government, freedom of choice and expression, but asides from the mobilization fee you’ve gotten this period, Nigerians (including yourself) as a whole have not benefited from this government and there’s no logical reason why this government should return. So let me ask, why are you so invested in the success of a wealthy politician, as opposed to fighting for your rights and your own survival?

You're not reading this status by accident. Allah has decreed for you to be reading this so pay attention to what you're about to read... Allah loves you more than your own mother does. He is more Merciful to you than you are to yourself. He knows what is best for you. Allah loves it when you repent and He loves to forgive. Allah has blessed you with everything you have, and what you don't have is also a blessing from Allah. He gives you countless opportunities to repent and turn back and He is quick to forgive. You didn't read that by accident. Allah Willed for you to read it. So whatever your test and your weakness - turn back to Allah.

When you recognize Allah as Al-Nasir (the helper) you begin to talk to him for help about everything, even the smallest thing and gradually your conversation with him increases and he increases your sustenance. with that you get to realize that he’s Al-Wakeel (dependable one)

Work quietly. Don’t let the noise around you drown out the purpose within you. Work within your capacity. Don’t let what’s outside your control consume you. Work sincerely. Don’t let the approval of people become your obsession.

Sometimes, all I can do is look at my life and say, Alhamdulillah. Not because everything has always been perfect, but because through it all, You have been merciful to me. You have protected me, sustained me, and blessed me in ways I cannot fully explain.
