Dedicated corridors reduce operator handoffs, which helps. The harder part remains proving continuous temperature data and clear custody at every remaining transfer. Independent verification of the physical chain still matters.

Useful expansion for temperature-sensitive products. Procurement and quality teams should still qualify handoff points, temperature continuity across transfers, and contingency routing if a corridor is disrupted.

More dedicated capacity and fewer handoffs is a practical step. The remaining test is continuous temperature-data continuity and clear custody at Asian hub transfers. How are data logging and excursion alerts handled on the new corridors?

DHL added 6 dedicated cold-chain air corridors linking Europe & North America to Asia (Liège/Brussels/Cincinnati → Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo Narita, Seoul). More capacity is useful for temperature-sensitive healthcare products. It doesn’t automatically guarantee integrity. Buyers should still test: • Handoff custody • Temperature-data continuity • Excursion response • Route contingencies Fewer operator handoffs help. Verifiable control across the remaining points is what protects product.

Agreed — consumers shouldn’t have to guess. The useful next step is making that verification signal portable so other systems (resale, logistics, customs) can actually use it instead of starting from zero.

Tokenization is clearly accelerating. The missing piece for a lot of physical assets is still a reliable authenticity and custody signal that can travel with the object, not just live inside the token.

Composability on the financial side is moving fast. The harder problem for many real-world assets is still the authenticity and provenance layer that has to travel with the physical product itself.

Tokenized stocks make the financial layer easy. The harder part is still the physical layer — proving the underlying asset or product is real before it gets tokenized. That’s where the gap is.

Full write-up from Base on Ethos: base.org/customers/ethos Curious how people are thinking about the gap between a portable reputation score and actual proof when the counterparty is an object (product, batch, asset) rather than an account.

Portable reputation can reduce repeated onboarding, but a score is not proof. Base's Ethos case shows the opportunity and the guardrail: define the subject, evidence, issuer, timestamp and decision boundary before making trust signals travel.

Same failure mode shows up in the new EU PID rules. The identifiers exist in theory, but they break or get re-keyed between seller → platform → fulfillment → customs declaration.

The practical problem for a lot of catalogs is that the manufacturer never assigned a clean NS-PID in the first place, so teams are inventing one under time pressure. How are you seeing merchants handle products that have no manufacturer reference at all?

The carrier API chaos is real. The bigger operational risk is still upstream — merchants and manufacturers often don’t have clean, consistent IDs to begin with, so even perfect carrier systems get bad data.

Product identity is becoming customs data. From 1 Nov, low-value B2C imports into the EU require merchant and manufacturer IDs per item (plus a standardised ID where one exists). A generic description is no longer enough. The IDs have to stay accurate from the seller all the way to the declaration. Anyone already mapping this into their systems?

TAG IT Network is now an NFC Forum member. Thank you, @nfcforum, for the welcome. NFC is the tap. We bind that tap to a cryptographic identity — authenticity, provenance, and event history that stay with the product. #NFC #NFCForum #SupplyChain

Agents that email are useful. Ones that act on a tokenized object change the product. If it can read an item’s on-chain ID, check custody, and trigger a transfer, the inbox is just the UI. The object is the account. Principal: human, wallet, or asset?

NFC is moving beyond “tap to open.” The NFC Forum shortlist spans product-integrity evidence, connected pharma packaging, cattle records and access logs. Buyer takeaway: define identity, claims, permissions and event history before choosing the tag. nfc-forum.org/news/2026-09-m…
