What a fucking piece of shit she is

My reaction to Spider-Man Brand New Day — no spoilers don’t worry!
An emotionally meaty dwelling on loneliness and suppressing what we truly are. With incredible stunts, VFX, and coloring, it’s the best looking Spider-Man film since the Raimi era. The webbing has never been stickier. The Hulk sequence was my favorite Marvel action scene in years. Sadie Sink is devastating in her role and I cant wait to see more of her in the MCU. Overall the film reflects some of my favorite Spider-Man stories in the way that Peter’s world is so crowded with familiar faces and insanity, and how his hero’s journey can be such an inspiration to others. It takes maybe a few minutes too long to get into everything. But it’s a sweet tale that will mean a lot to a lot of people. The biggest impact of this film requires plot reveals to even describe so nothing further from me for now!

The realization that these people represent a loud, miserable, obnoxious minority with no real cultural power is not going down well with them. They're in siege mentality mode. The more money The Odyssey makes, the more audiences love it, the more they're going to psychospiral.

Proud that New York is one of 12 states suing to stop Paramount's acquisition of Warner Bros.
This is not a merger that serves the public. It would hand one company nearly a third of the movies and cable channels Americans watch, raise prices for streaming and cable, endanger the livelihoods of thousands of New York artists and entertainment workers, and threaten to shutter theaters across our city.
New York's workers helped build this industry. They should not be sacrificed for the sake of further corporate consolidation.

We cannot consider #AI to be morally neutral. In reality, every technical tool embodies choices and priorities through what it measures, ignores, and optimizes, and how it classifies people and situations. Ethical discernment cannot be limited to asking whether we are using a system for good or bad purposes. It must also examine how that system is designed and what vision of the human person and society is embedded in the data and models that guide it. #MagnificaHumanitas

There's no better case for socialism than the world's first trillionaire being a massive loser who cosplays as his mom and baby online and lies about being good at video games in an attempt to give his life meaning.

Another day, another illiterate take from you, @HomerPavlos, all for pleasing your MAGA audience, chasing RTs from Musk, and eventually the next X pay out.
No, Athena was not “sparkling blue-eyed” in the modern sense.
Homer calls her γλαυκῶπις (glaukōpis) from γλαυκός (glaukos) + ὤψ (ōps, “eye/face”).
γλαυκός means gleaming, flashing, bright, silvery, or pale-shining, not primarily “blue”.
The same word appears in many contexts:
In the Iliad (16.34), Achilles is told: γλαυκὴ δέ σε τίκτε θάλασσα (“the gleaming sea bore you”); the shining surface of the water.
In Sophocles’ Oedipus at Colonus (706): γλαυκᾶς παιδοτρόφου φύλλον ἐλαίας (“the leaf of the child-nourishing gleaming olive tree”).
Even modern Greek translators understood this nuance. Iakovos Polylas (19th century) rendered the sea line simply as “the sea and the rocks”, omitting the colour word entirely.
I.N. Gryparis (1934) translated the Sophocles olive line as “σταχτόχλωρη ελιά” (ash-grey-green olive).
Were they disrespecting Greeks by not forcing a literal “blue”?
No.
This is exactly the linguistic reality I explained here: xitter.cf/i/status/2056398346995…
Ancient Greeks prioritised brightness and sheen over fixed modern hues, just as χλωρός (chloros) covers fresh honey, young wood, pale faces and blood; just as the sea is οἶνοψ (wine-dark).
Look at the actual ancient and Roman depictions of Athena (many of which use blue pigment when they want to, yet often show her with brown or dark eyes).
They understood γλαυκῶπις as a flashing, owl-like, intimidating gaze, not literal modern blue eyes.
Projecting “sparkling blue” onto her is the very anachronism and historical illiteracy you accuse Nolan. At least, Nolan, unlike you, had the decency to claim that his movie is build on “informed speculation” and it's not historically accurate.
You, on the other hand, present your uninformed speculation as historically correct.

Ok time for school.
“Barbarian” just meant non-Greek-speaking foreigner. Could be Africans, Persians, Thracians (European), Scythians (European/steppe), Germanic tribes (Northern European), everyone. It was not a modern racial term. Understand that first.
Now if you’re trying to imply Greeks viewed Africans as “uncivilized”, history says the COMPLETE opposite. Greeks saw Egypt as a land of ancient wisdom and learning. Herodotus traveled to Egypt to learn (didn’t travel to Belgium lol) while Homer described Ethiopians as the “blameless Ethiopians” favored by the gods.
Ironically, the foreign groups Greek and later Greco-Roman writers most commonly portrayed as wild, tribal, drunken, or uncivilized, were the northern European peoples like Scythians, Celts, and Germanic tribes…..NOT Africans.

Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
