Absolutely brilliant PhD oration by @elyas_arvell. An exceptional scientist, a generous colleague, a fierce advocate, and a wonderful human; it's been an absolute gift to have been invited to come on this journey with them. They have helped make our lab @TheFlorey a special place

I'll very much miss @TheGordonLab and @TheFlorey, and am so grateful for my experiences with them, but I'm eager to start this new chapter and explore new science. Thank you @chrislangmead and @gdstewart82 for bringing me on board!

It is a privilege to play a small role in helping to achieve diagnoses, understanding, and better care for people with rare diseases. It takes a village, and we need to invest in the wellbeing of the not-so-rare 300 million people living with a rare disease. #RareDiseaseDay

It's been a rough week for queer folk in Australia, especially trans and non-binary folk, and today is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. I'm particularly proud of the fact that all the authors of this work are queer women or non-binary folk 🏳️‍🌈💪

Woo! We'll take it 🙌😄! Really proud of this beast of a review (written in a pandemic). @SynapticHolly and @asciencequeer worked incredibly hard to put together what we hope is a useful and timely resource for the field.

Although Baker-Gordon Syndrome is a #RareDisease, new variants of uncertain significance are regularly being identified. We hope this study increases confidence in diagnosing individuals with likely pathogenic SYT1 variants, providing much-needed answers for affected families.
