I tell my patients who come see us at our Haverty Cardiometabolic Center, “the a.fib is the tip of the iceberg, and what’s below the surface is driven mostly by the metabolic disease of obesity.” - which drives the HTN, DM, inflammation, HFpEF, etc.
Among patients with #AtrialFibrillation, elevated BMI, and 1 or more additional cardiometabolic risk factors, aggressive risk factor management reduced arrhythmia recurrence over the 12-month period after catheter ablation. ja.ma/47ehz8t

Agree @AndrewJSauer. I never write for fluid restriction in awake patient. Thirst is extremely uncomfortable and forcing it is cruel, imo. Besides it doesn’t work long-term. @VorovichHeartMD @shelleyhallmd @amitalamMD @MKIttlesonMD @WilcoxHeart
