Hey doctors? If you’re reading this, I genuinely would like to know something. Why are so many of you so quick to dismiss us? Nobody wants to be sick. Nobody wants to spend their free time in waiting rooms, seeking referrals, or begging to be taken seriously. Yet, that’s what so many of us are forced to do, especially women. Listen, if a patient takes time out of their day to come to your office, it’s not because they’re bored or lonely. It’s because something is wrong and they need help. Patients are waiting 6-8 months just to see a specialist. That’s after countless hours, even days, searching Reddit, Facebook groups, Twitter threads, trying to figure out what their symptoms mean and which doctors will take them seriously. We miss work, birthdays, holidays, life itself, because our bodies are malfunctioning and no one will help. We’re not doing this “for attention.” We’re doing this because we’re sick. And we know our bodies. It makes zero sense for someone to go through all of this just for fun. Yet somehow, it makes sense to some doctors to call us dramatic, anxious, or fakers. If you don’t know what’s wrong, just say that. Don’t gaslight us. Dont write us off. Research for us, refer us out or consult with someone. Patients are doing so much just to be believed. Meet us halfway!

NEWLY RELEVANT RAMS D-LINE NUGGET, @JourdanRodrigue.
*Awesome* This Is Football with @JourdanRodrigue who embedded with Rams scouts. The thought behind Rams draft: You can't replace Aaron Donald with one guy but a unique type of chemistry with prospects can help. That's how they landed on FSU's Jared Verse and Braden Fiske. Watch:

This is very real and costs between 200-300k, depending on how much damage has been done from previous surgeries and treatments or age. The plastic surgeon who does this surgery is based in New York and is an expert in doing ‘everything at once’. Instead of a regular face lift, they go through and lift every part of the face individually which stops the face from looking ‘pulled’ and instead relocates skin, tissue and fat pads to where they were originally. When the face is still it looks pretty natural, when it moves it just looks botoxed. Unless you saw the before and afters you would never guess how extreme this surgery was. This isn’t skincare, lasers, facials or treatments, it’s extreme and expensive surgery. Don’t let these people sell you products that ‘made them look younger’.

There’s a teenager in the ICU in BC with bird flu. As news spreads- I’m seeing increasing number of people ask “what health conditions did he have? Was he overweight?” Can we PLEASE not do this again? A 16 year old is fighting for his life. Stop looking for fault /1 🧵

HEALTH UPDATE: It has officially been one year since I contracted Covid-19 while on set for my movie that I’ve been working on. I was once a very healthy 31-year old man, but now every day is a struggle for me. A THREAD... 🧵

I mean... these studies are undoubtedly important, but to be honest, it's not how I want to see the NIH RECOVER money spent . We can characterize symptoms and definitions for years to come, but that's not going to change any treatment options that I have to offer to teens with #LongCovid and post-Covid #Dysautonomia. It's more than 4 years into #LongCovid shadow pandemic: we need FDA-approved therapies now! 🩹💉👩‍🔬 #BrainHealth #NeuroTwitter #MedTwitter #CovidIsntOver

Several studies on patients with #LongCovid and #Dysautonomia found reduced VO2max in patients compared to healthy controls, which appears to be due to decreased peripheral oxygen extraction and not deconditioning.

“No Olympic athletes are going to get Long Covid! It’s been 4 years and I don’t know anyone who has Long Covid!” Yes. You do. Many people don’t disclose their disabilities for fear of ableist backlash. Others don’t connect the dots and may not realize they have Long Covid 🧵/1

Wildly controversial take but I feel like people who are curious about older horror films should watch them instead of just imagining what they were probably like. xitter.cf/Variety/status/1812543…

Viral persistence of SARS-CoV-2 is rapidly growing throughout society in the form of Long Covid, w/ HIV/AIDS like damage to immune systems on the rise. xitter.cf/LongCovidAP/stat… Meanwhile, Long Covid viral & immune RNA biomarkers have been found using a viral load test for SARS2 that’s sensitive enough to be applied clinically from readily available transcriptomic equipment, yet @NIH hasn’t included it in viral persistence clinical trials. We need this story amplified & the FDA to approve the Long Covid viral load test using blood 🩸 transcriptomics so that everyone in the public can be tested for Long Covid. We need #AntiviralsNow.

let's all say our favorite dan radcliffe stories. mine is that he worked as a real fact-checker at the new yorker to prepare for his role in "the lifespan of a fact" and would just casually call places, not say who he was, and confirm teeny tiny details of menus & stuff
my favorite Daniel Radcliffe story is that he once went on a Bachelor recap podcast, did not mention his acting career even once, and gave the incisive analysis of the episode only a truly studied fan could

Tragic to say this out loud, but here it is: As a #LongCOVID researcher, I strongly urge the public to ignore recent @CDCgov guidance and input from @CDCDirector on the topic of #COVID. It is NOT based on consensus science and it has NOT been designed to protect you. Disgraceful

I'm sorry you all feel there's nothing you can do, but I cured my chronic illnesses and not with doctors or their drugs. I will always believe it's possible. I used to not be able to talk and walk with my children feeding and clothing me...now I run circles around everyone!
