U. S. S. VALOR... WOW!!! The War of Will colt dominates the @BreedersCup #WAYI Champagne Stakes by 6 1/2 lengths for trainer Shug McGaughey with @jockeyfranco aboard! A @TeamValor homebred, U. S. S. Valor has now won his last two races by a combined winning margin of 19 3/4 lengths and has 10 @KentuckyDerby points π

U. S. S. Valor proved that maiden win was no fluke. Best of all, he's proven he can do it different ways, on the lead or rating. Seriously exciting horse.

Incredibly proud of Vajra's effort today! Facing a talented group of winners, she was oh so close to bringing home the win! We'll take 2nd all day though with the run she just put in! π€
Congratulations to the winner, and my heart goes out to @AronWellman7 and the team @EclipseTBP with a brutal stumble out of the gate for their filly Code. Prayers up she's healthy and ok! ππΌ
A ton of positives to take away from today! We'll be back! πͺπΌ

Don't Fall Off
13 years ago, at FatBaldGuyRacing, we started yelling three words across the finish line: Don't fall off.
If you don't know racing, you'd think it's simple. A jockey's three lengths ahead, the crowd's screaming, and all he has to do is stay on the horse. Don't fall off. Easy, right?
But we've been saying it for two decades now, and I promise you β it was never really about the horse.
Because here's the truth about life: most people don't get knocked off course by one big disaster. They don't get bucked off in some dramatic, obvious moment. They fall off slow. A missed day. A skipped meeting. One drink that was supposed to be the only one. One workout they didn't feel like doing. One bad night that turns into a bad week. That's how it happens β not falling, but sliding. An inch at a time, until one day you look down and you're not on the horse anymore, and you can't even point to the moment you lost your grip.
That's why we yell it. Because the race isn't the hard part. The race is exciting. The hard part is the stretch where nobody's watching β where it's just you, and the ground is moving fast beneath you, and every part of you wants to let go because holding on is tiring.
Think about the people this mantra was built for. The alcoholic who's ninety days sober and it's a Friday night and everyone around him is drinking and nobody would even know if he had just one. The addict who's doing the work, going to meetings, staying clean, and then gets a phone call that knocks the wind out of him. The veteran who came home carrying weight nobody else can see, fighting a battle every single day that most people will never understand. The man or woman standing in front of the mirror, trying to lose the weight, stick to the program, show up to the gym on the day they'd rather stay in bed.
Every one of them is a jockey. Every one of them is three lengths ahead, doing the hard work, making real progress β and every one of them is one moment away from letting go.
Don't fall off isn't a warning about losing a race. It's a reminder that the thing that will hurt you isn't some out-of-nowhere disaster. It's you, in a weak moment, deciding the fight isn't worth it anymore. It's your own hand loosening its grip.
So when we yell it β at the track, to each other β we're not talking about horses. We're talking about the program. We're talking about the next right choice. We're talking about staying in the saddle when your arms are burning and the finish line still feels a mile away.
Because here's what all the years has taught us: the people who make it β the ones who beat the addiction, who come home from war and rebuild, who lose the weight and keep it off, who turn their whole life around β they're not the ones who never got tired. They're not the ones who never wanted to quit. They're the ones who, in that exact moment when everything in them said let go, remembered three words instead.
Don't fall off.
Stay in the fight. Stay on the horse. Stay on the program, even on the day you don't feel like it β especially on the day you don't feel like it. Because the race isn't won at the finish line. It's won in every single stride where you could have quit, and didn't.
So to everyone out there fighting something β an addiction, a weight, a memory, a bad habit, a hard morning β we're yelling it for you too.
Don't fall off.
