Just to add Sardar: talking about Rojava in past tense is defeatist, because continuous struggle in imperfect conditions is what made Rojava possible. Universities are inseparable part of this.

In my hometown, Digor, 33 years ago, the soldiers opened fire on villagers, killing 17, among them 6 kids, and injuring 63. My childhood memories of this massacre do not allow me to fully embrace the possibility of peace without justice, an acknowledgement at the very least.

Kars’ın Digor ilçesinde 14 Ağustos 1993 tarihinde halka yönelik koruculuk dayatması, gıda ambargosu ve ev baskınlarına karşı düzenlenen yürüyüşe yönelik silahlı saldırının üzerinden 33 yıl geçti. Katliamı gerçekleştirenler ceza almadı.
