Tony was said to base most of his AIs on people close to him, and he created EDITH after Peter Parker was turned to dust in Avengers: Infinity War. EDITH even says, “I’m supposed to be the fun one.” Then Ultron gives an almost identical description of Peter’s life: “Perhaps because Edith Marks was so exceptionally brave. Because she lived every day with unimaginable pain, and simply kept going.” I’m 100% convinced EDITH was meant to be based on Peter Parker. But because of Sony’s rights, they had to change the name and details.
