The argument id give against Tocchet saying it’s matchup dependent. How do you plan on these guys getting better in these areas late in games if they’re not getting reps and learning from them

I really don't think playing Michkov & Martone 13-15 mins per night is hurting their development much. I think both will be fine long-term. You don't need 18-20 to develop. I just think it's a bad short-term deployment strategy. Play your most dangerous players more, profit.

When a coach has a bias against a player, he will consistently find reasons to limit their TOI. Tocchet fits that profile - he clearly despises giveaways. Michkov sits at 4.14 per 60, Martone at 6.89. The only way to fully protect the team from giveaways is to keep both off the ice. Yet when those two rank in the team's Top 3 in points, that logic becomes absurd #LetsGoFlyers
