When Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath, the protector of all living beings, sees five young elephants chained and deprived of freedom, his heart fills with sorrow. He looks into Baby Elephants eyes and feels the pain of a life without the wild, without family, without freedom. With tears in his eyes, he breaks the chains and leads the young elephant back towards his herd. True devotion is compassion. No prayer is complete while a living being suffers. #CompassionIsDevotion #SaveIndianElephants #FreeTheFive #NoElephantsInTemples #StopElephantCaptivity

A new name: NAMASHIVAYA. But what changes for this young elephant? A sacred name cannot replace freedom, space or companionship. The mahout holds an ankush (bull hook) as the elephant stands amid a crowd for a photo-op, controlled by the threat of pain. Rule 6(4) of the TN Captive Elephants Rules, 2011 requires a notice asking pilgrims not to feed temple elephants. When those in power ignore this on camera, devotees and children follow. Reunite Hiralal, Durga, Bijuli, Shiva and Rupsing with their families. Stop further transfers. True devotion is compassion, not captivity! @CMOTamilnadu @TVKVijayHQ - your subordinates are misleading you, please form a SIT & take action on all those who are involved in trafficking of elephants go Tamil Nadu from Assam. Mahout use Knife & drag Hiralal by the Ear to control him. #SaveTheFive #VerifyTheFive #FreeTheFive #NoElephantsInTemples #StopElephantCaptivity
