This week I made a quick video for @BattleLoungePDX for the EVO competition in Las Vegas! This is a great example for why I’m buying new mics this week!

X-Men and Gundam Voice Legend Michael Kopsa Sadly Passed Away Four Years Ago Today at 66 🎙️🕊️ Michael Kopsa built an unusually versatile career across anime dubbing, Western animation, video games, and live-action television. Anime fans knew his commanding voice as Char Aznable in Mobile Suit Gundam and Char’s Counterattack, while superhero audiences heard him as Hank McCoy / Beast in X-Men: Evolution. His voice could move easily from heroes and military figures to villains and eccentric supporting characters, with memorable work across Ninjago, Death Note, Inuyasha, MegaMan NT Warrior, Galaxy Angel, and Littlest Pet Shop. Some of his memorable voice roles included: • Beast / Hank McCoy — X-Men: Evolution • Char Aznable — Mobile Suit Gundam / Char’s Counterattack • Samukai / Vex — Ninjago • Controller — Iron Man: Armored Adventures • Takeshi Ooi — Death Note — English Dub • Ovan — .hack//Roots — English Dub • Commander Volcott O’Huey — Galaxy Angel • Aeolia Schenberg — Mobile Suit Gundam 00 • Roger Baxter — Littlest Pet Shop • Goshinki / Byakko / Mezu — Inuyasha • LaserMan.EXE / PharaohMan.EXE — MegaMan NT Warrior • Yakon — Dragon Ball Z — Ocean Dub • Propheci / Reepyr — Dragon Booster • Lavin Skee — Planet Hulk • Baron Von Ravendale — Barbie in Princess Power His live-action work was just as extensive: • Captain Windmark — Fringe • Ned Cecil — Fantastic Four • Paul Klein — Watchmen • Deputy Secretary of Defense — Apollo 18 • Jerk Driver — Rise of the Planet of the Apes Four years later, his voice still connects remarkably different worlds, from Char Aznable’s battlefield intensity and Beast’s intelligence to the villains, fathers, commanders, and creatures that filled out decades of animation. Remembering Michael Kopsa, 1956–2022. 🎙️🕊️

To be serious about the Tekken 6 discourse for a moment: I’ve seen a number of tweets about “Japanese FGC” aura loss or how much one’s opinion on the “Japanese FGC” has dropped due to this, and yes the racist language on both sides is ugly, but all of you are saying “Japanese FGC” when you really mean Japanese society. The reason you come visit the country and tweet about how everything is so nice is the same reason you are so upset right now - people following rules, regardless of how nonsensical or outdated they seem. I grew up in America where rules are generally treated like suggestions, so it was incredibly frustrating when I first moved here and couldn’t understand why people wouldn’t make exceptions or bend rules to help me out for things that I thought were minor. It was just me constantly asking “Why??” and getting told, “That’s just how it is,” with no room for discussion. I thought I knew better and things should be changed to be more convenient for me, but after adjusting my thinking and seeing how everyone followed these same rules, it made living here so much more comfortable - it’s why I’ve chosen to stay for 15+ years. Now OBVIOUSLY I am not saying no one in Japan breaks rules, but it’s understood that if you get caught then no one is going to be there defending you. That’s where this whole issue comes from - you are not going to convince anyone on Twitter that “This rule is dumb, I'm going to ignore it.” If you’re gonna do it, then do it - but no amount of justification will make it acceptable in the eyes of most people here. So yes, this is a complex issue, but it is not the “Japanese FGC” you are dealing with, it's Japan’s rule-based society as a whole. It’s been very interesting and pretty nostalgic to watch from the sidelines. As for my stance: No comment 😇

Hi @Ekspym ! I hope you’re doing well. My name is VIMIL. I’m a Tekken player, an active member of the Korean Tekken community, and an arcade lever maker based in South Korea. I’m reaching out today first and foremost to express my sincere gratitude to you for creating the Tekken 6 launcher. Thanks to your amazing work, I’ve been having an absolute blast playing the game again. Developing and sharing a tool like this for the community is no small feat, and as someone who deeply loves Tekken 6, I truly appreciate all your effort and dedication! While enjoying the game, I thought of a small suggestion I’d love to humbly share with you, based on how Tekken 6 was played in Korea back in the day. During the golden era of Korean arcades, most cabinets were set up with a "Health +1" setting, which increased the default HP by about 10%. Famous Korean tournament leagues—most notably TEKKEN CRASH—also officially adopted this boosted health setting for matches. From our experience, this extra 10% health created a remarkably solid overall balance. It brought out the full potential of the Rage system, allowing for incredible comeback moments and making matches far more tense, tactical, and thrilling to play and watch. I think it’s a wonderful balance setting that offers a great gameplay experience, so if you ever have the time, I’d be so grateful if you could test this setup out or consider it as an option! Thank you once again for your fantastic contribution to the Tekken community, for your time, and for reading this message. Wishing you all the best with your projects! Best regards, VIMIL
