On Monday the 2nd September this year Ethan Griffiths passed away at just 21 years of age. Ethan was the much loved son of Jaime Griffiths and brother of Oliver, Abigail and Amelia and the cherished grandson of Anne & Wes Miller and Fred & Jubjang May.
Ethan died at the scene of the collision with a freight train at a railway crossing on Twigg Rd, Yenda, in the Riverina region of NSW.
The accident was investigated by police and the Coroner, with eye-witnesses confirming Ethan obeyed the stop sign and looked both ways. However, tragically, the setting sun blocked all vision of the oncoming train.
Had boom gates or warning signals been present, Ethan would still be alive today.
It is too late for Ethan, but it is not too late to make rural infrastructure safer for local families and regional communities state-wide.
His mother Jaime is now appealing for safety upgrades at that crossing and pushing for sweeping improvements across country NSW and beyond βwith the aim of saving innocent livesβ.
Jamie has joined our group of families and is tirelessly campaigning to prevent further preventable tragedies and the rest of us are right behind her.
Please watch Jaime's heartbreaking video and lend your support to this lifesaving campaign where you can. Thank you.

Our decades old fight is to make trains more visible in line with every other high-risk hazardous industry on the planet and dangerous crossings like Yarri Road safer for everyone. Advanced warning lights are critical here. Thanks to Kalgoorlie Miner journalist Carwyn Monck for following up.
We are simply trying to prevent another shocking and preventable crash here.
As a wise man said, the standard you walk past is the standard you accept. He was right.
Yarri Road is not acceptable, I'm not walking or driving past in in the knowledge that there is a bad crash waiting to happen there. All relevant authorities have been notified by me personally there is a problem that urgently needs to be fixed. Thanks Lara

Sneak peak. Our education and industry inspiration trailer has just rolled out of the signwriters. This is a grass roots effort to try to improve the image of road transport as a career, inspire people to think about what we do and educate about sharing the road. From little things big things grow. #steeringthefuture

There's something that I really need yourΒ help with for the Suck-cession podcast.
I have an anonymous survey on the prevalence of domestic abuse & coercive control in Australian farming families & I would love to have at least 500 people take part. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey & share it with your networks.

No headache rack on the cab, driver is lucky to be alive.
If you miss your exit, don't cut off a truck to try and make it.
Shout out to @WesternRoadsFed, @ALRTA_News & ATA for calling out the real effects of banning Live Sheep Exports
Aust won't be "saving" sheep by the ban, but move LSE to less animal-friendly countries that will make huge profits with less concern about their welfare

A major reason is that Consultants are engaged is to βjustifyβ predetermined decisions.
That way Fed Pollies and Bureaucrats can say their decisions were based on external consultant advice.
