We began work at 5 this morning to replace 200 yards of crash-damaged guardrail on westbound I-80 between Sparks and USA Parkway.
Big shoutout to the crews who made these repairs!

Westbound I-80 reduced to one lane at Patrick 5am-noon Sunday as we replace approximately 200 feet of crash-damaged guardrail.
Avoid area if possible.

Crews worked hard overnight on the #DiabloFire. Fire is currently estimated at 185 acres with 30% containment. Remains fully on @blmnv land. Cause is still under investigation. Thank you for remaining fire safe today!
Forward progress has been stopped. Fire has been transferred to BLM. Evacuation warnings have been lifted. Approximately 65 acres. Initial cause is unknown. Resources included @blmnv @RenoFireDept Storey County Fire, Carson City Fire, @forestservice @NevadaForestry & air resources. #DiabloFire

#TrafficAlert #RoadClosure Reno, NV. NHP is investigating a critical injury crash that occurred on SR341 east of S Virginia St, between S Virginia St and the roundabout at Veterans Pkwy in Washoe County, NV. This is a two-vehicle crash involving a dump truck and an SUV. One person with life threatening injuries was extricated and transported by ground ambulance to a local area hospital. Road Closures: SR341 in both directions (west/east) is closed between S Virginia St and the roundabout at Veterans Pkwy. This closure is expected for the next two to four hours.

***Public Advisory***
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies, with the assistance of the Storey County Sheriff’s Office, are actively searching for 23-year-old Chase Orput, who walked away from a Washoe County Sheriff’s Office inmate work crew while assigned to the Lockwood Landfill.
Orput was last seen at approximately 1:30 p.m. heading west from the area of Saddle Court and East Mustang Road.
Orput is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 185 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black-and-white striped inmate shirt and pants.
Orput is currently serving a sentence on misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to show or maintain proof of insurance.
Anyone with information regarding Orput's whereabouts is asked to contact emergency dispatch by calling 911.

GOLD HILL FIRE 6/3/26 2:50 PM UPDATE: The Gold Hill Fire is currently at 80 percent containment. State Route 342 remains closed in both directions from the bottom of the Truck Route to Toll Road while crews continue operations in the area. The closure will remain in place for several hours.
GOLD HILL FIRE UPDATE 6/3/26 1:32 PM UPDATE: The Gold Hill fire is currently estimated at 4.08 acres and is 60 percent contained.
This is a revision from the initial estimate of 21.2 acres. Fire officials have updated the total acreage following improved mapping and assessment on scene.
No structures were damaged or lost, and there are no reported injuries. The cause of the fire has been determined to be unfounded.
State Route 342 remains closed in both directions from the bottom of the Truck Route to Toll Road while crews continue operations in the area. The closure will remain in place for several hours.

As 4th of July celebrations take place, a reminder from NDOT and @NevadaForestry that small actions can prevent fires:
- Secure trailer chains
- Avoid parking on dry grass
- Carry a fire extinguisher
- Never throw cigarettes from vehicles
