Happy birthday to Dizzy Gillespie, born on this day in 1917!
Trumpeter and composer at the center of bebop, alongside Charlie Parker. Later a key figure in Afro-Cuban jazz, with a signature bent horn and blazing upper register.

Kaygıyla mücadele ediyorsan bu eseri dinle. Yaklaşık 30 saniye içinde nefes alışın değişmeye başlayacak. Bedeni sakinleştiren şey ise notaların arasındaki sessizlik.

Vivaldi Wrote This Music 300 Years Ago. Now We Can Actually Watch It.
Antonio Vivaldi composed “Winter” from The Four Seasons around 1723, long before anyone could record music or turn notes into moving images.
This visualization gives the piece a fascinating new dimension. Each glowing point represents a musical note, revealing patterns, repetitions, and overlapping parts that our ears might otherwise miss.
But Vivaldi was already creating pictures through sound. His music portrays shivering in freezing weather, icy winds, and people cautiously walking across frozen ground.
Nearly three centuries later, technology lets us follow those musical stories note by note, making the remarkable imagination behind this Baroque masterpiece easier to appreciate.

Italian pianist #MaurizioPollini believed that great art should be accessible to everyone, not just the elite.
During the 1960s and 1970s, he collaborated with conductor #ClaudioAbbado and composer #LuigiNono to bring classical music directly to the working class 🎶👏

To me, John Coltrane represents the very idea of a musician. The archetype. The ultimate expression of what a musician can be.

100 years ago today, John Coltrane was born.
For 20 days, I’ve shared one essential Coltrane recording each day.
For the final one, something more personal: a family film edit set to my all-time favorite Coltrane piece: “Equinox”

September 23 seems to be a great day for musical genius, as John Coltrane, Ray Charles, and Les McCann were all born on this day.

What's one of your favorite Earth, Wind & Fire songs? 🎶
Do You Remember the 21st Night of September? The song "September" was recorded in September 1978 and was released both as a single & then on the album, The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Volume 1 in November 1978. Founded in 1969 by Maurice White in Chicago, Earth, Wind & Fire released 21 studio albums, 4 live albums, 17 compilation albums, 19 video albums & 62 singles. Kennedy Center Honors, Hollywood Walk of Fame, 6 Grammys & induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are just some accolades received by the band. The song, "September," reached #1 on Billboard R&B charts, 8th on the Billboard Hot 100 and charted in many other countries around the world. Contrary to much speculation, the words really don't refer to anything in particular, White just liked how it sounded.
