The public inquiry into the police riot at Orgreave on 18th June 1984 has now begun.
Anyone who was involved in any capacity is invited to attend two listening events in Barnsley on 28th October and Durham on 12th November.
There's only one chance at this inquiry, so let's make sure every voice is heard.

This is absolutely pathetic dead cat deflection to make the flailing Party look like the victims.

STATEMENT: Reform UK has reported ITV, its board, and its undercover reporters to the police. Some of the crimes carry up to 10 years in prison. They forged a passport. They directly interfered in elections and almost certainly altered the results. Being paid to “canvass” for Reform in crucial wards we lost by a few dozen votes. They lied to a veteran about their service and left him “violated”. This is unprecedented. The police are now involved. Scrutiny of political parties is one thing. But anyone breaking the law to try and ruin the lives of Reform’s staff, members or volunteers will be reported to the police and pursued relentlessly in the courts.

14 year-old Birmingham City winger Grandel Boateng has received his first international call-up for Belgium.😯🇧🇪
Last season, Boateng broke a record previously held by Jude Bellingham and Alfie Smith to become Birmingham City’s youngest ever player to make a competitive U18s appearance, at just 14 years and 99 days old.🤯
He has also previously received an England U15 call-up.🏴
Boateng will attend a Belgium U16 camp which will include a friendly against Luxembourg.✅
What an opportunity for him.👏🌟
And while Birmingham twiddles its thumbs and lets The Crown sit empty and idle, Liverpool crack on…via @OldStationSt

What is the long term legacy of Margaret Thatcher? Even formulating the question leaves a bitter taste of rancour in the mouth.
The answer for working people is pretty straight forward - they are still paying the price.
Margaret Thatcher’s legacy wasn’t just a decade of attacks on trade unions and working-class communities. It was a political and economic project that shifted power and wealth away from working people and into the hands of private capital.
Public utilities were sold off. Council homes were sold without being replaced. Trade unions were weakened. Communities built around industry were left to pick up the pieces.
And what did we get in return? Essential services turned into profit-making opportunities, with private companies and shareholders able to extract wealth from things we all depend on - from energy and water to housing.
The consequences are still with us today. From soaring water bills and energy costs to the housing crisis and the struggle to fund public services, the question remains: who is the economy really working for?
As the debate over Thatcherism returns, we need more than warm words about reversing the past. We need action: public ownership, properly funded public services, decent jobs and stronger trade unions.
Working people and our communities created this country’s wealth. It’s time they had a fair share of it.
Tax the rich. Invest in our communities. Put people before profit.

After nearly 50 years working as a civil servant at RAF Lossiemouth, Kenneth thought he could rely on his pension after retirement. Then Capita tool control of his pension scheme.
Despite retiring in May, Kenneth hasn't been paid a penny by Capita. And he's not alone. Thousands are left without an income by outsourced incompetence.
📣 Pls shout out and share, and tell Capita to pay up or move over ♻️
