i dont know what the scale of the Cal illegal mkt is now (or if any one does) But i dont think saying it's grown is unreasonable, just that it is servicing out of state mkts. the obv answer is more legalisation in other states, not less. Nationwide the illegal mkt is smaller
Keith - reading the article it says neither of these things. Its says illegal market violence 'persisted' and makes no comment on the size of the illegal market.
Since Nevada legalized cannabis, the illicit market has become larger and more violent.

this is talking about recreation cannabis not opioids - and has no obvious relevance to safer supply prescribing in a harm reduction setting.
and if you read the article - at no point does it say the illicit market has become either larger or more violent
great to see the debate on cannabis regulation moving forward in Nigeria. Politician and human rights advocate Omoyele Sowore here highlighting the economic waste of enforcement efforts.
It is idiotic @ndlea_nigeria wake up, put on uniforms, march into farms, and set economically viable crops worth millions of dollars ablaze while your country is drowning in multidimensional poverty.
Stop destroying cannabis farms. Stop wasting enormous economic opportunities in the name of a failed and outdated policy.
Legalize and properly regulate cannabis. Invest in research, harness its legitimate medicinal and industrial potential, create jobs, generate revenue, and build an industry Nigerians can benefit from.
You cannot burn your way out of poverty, foolish people!

Despite the legalization of #cannabis for medicinal and industrial purposes in Morocco, roughly 60,000 families in the Rif are still dependent on illicit cultivation: fewer than one grower in ten has crossed into the legal channel. 1/2

It also said non commercial legalisation models were not associated with negative outcomes (but maintained benefits). Look forward to your position endorsing such reform.
A fixed tax can be the same as or very similar in effect to MUP - but govt derives excess revenue rather than vendor
They are not mutually incompatible - suggesting they are divisive and counterproductive.
Harm reduction focuses on a hierarchy of goals, including - but not limited to - abstinence based recovery.

Who has said that?
What definition of harm reduction do you use?
