Keith - reading the article it says neither of these things. Its says illegal market violence 'persisted' and makes no comment on the size of the illegal market.
Since Nevada legalized cannabis, the illicit market has become larger and more violent.

great to see the debate on cannabis regulation moving forward in Nigeria. Politician and human rights advocate Omoyele Sowore here highlighting the economic waste of enforcement efforts.
It is idiotic @ndlea_nigeria wake up, put on uniforms, march into farms, and set economically viable crops worth millions of dollars ablaze while your country is drowning in multidimensional poverty.
Stop destroying cannabis farms. Stop wasting enormous economic opportunities in the name of a failed and outdated policy.
Legalize and properly regulate cannabis. Invest in research, harness its legitimate medicinal and industrial potential, create jobs, generate revenue, and build an industry Nigerians can benefit from.
You cannot burn your way out of poverty, foolish people!

Despite the legalization of #cannabis for medicinal and industrial purposes in Morocco, roughly 60,000 families in the Rif are still dependent on illicit cultivation: fewer than one grower in ten has crossed into the legal channel. 1/2

One thing I noticed during Pride Month: many arguments used against LGBTQ people sound surprisingly familiar to those who follow the drug policy debate. Different issues, same playbook. drogriporter.hu/en/7-things-…

Remember when @CharlesFLehman and @KevinSabet went to The Washington Post to tell millions of people supervised consumption sites don’t work?
Awkward…
Because the researchers they cited just called them out.
Imagine being corrected by your own sources.
Supervised consumption sites save lives.
PERIOD.

Did you know that the Milky Way is even milkier when viewed from the Southern Hemisphere? This is because from the southern side of our planet, we get a clearer, more direct view of the dense galactic core.
Here’s a look at the Milky Way starting over the Southern Ocean (between Australia and Antarctica) from our @SpaceX Dragon window, complete with some aurora (Southern Lights) and fleeting Starlink satellites. Enjoy the view!

The Green party support heroin assisted treatment (HAT)(prescribing of pharmaceutical diamorphine to dependent users).
It doesn't need legalising; it's a medical treatment that's been legal/practiced for 100yrs in the UK, going all the way back to the Rolleston Committee in 1926

Wow. The Pope was just asked his stance on migration. His answer is amazing:
“I would change the question: what is the global North doing to help the global South in its situation that forces them to migrate.”
