France built 42 nuclear power plants in the 1980s. 42!! What an insanely inspiring country this used to be.
The constant decel messaging in Europe is insufferable as an adult, but its effect on kids is worse. As a parent, it's your obligation to counterprogram this nonsense. Show them robots, rockets, and wonders of AI. Show them cathedrals and moon landings. Instill hope in progress.
i was having dinner with someone recently who asked why i spend so much time reading & posting on x. she had a pretty negative perception of the platform mostly shaped by the mainstream narrative around it.
my answer was simple. x is where the future gets beta tested.
you basically get to watch ppl build things, talk through ideas, show off stuff, & argue about where everything is going, way way before it reaches anyone else.
there really isn’t another surface on the internet quite like it.
Wtf is this take? Where do you travel to? Do Paris, Istanbul, Rio De Janeiro and Shanghai look the same to you?
modern travel is increasingly flying 10 hours to experience a slightly different version of the same globally optimized lifestyle.
same third wave coffee. same natural wine bar. same brutalist menu. same sourdough. same beige hotel. same tasteful ceramics. same instagram lighting.
what a ridiculous convergence.

it rocks how we have legit virtual reality, real robots and apparently the next big graphical leap in gaming and everyone is just like. this shit sucks. piss of
Ask your agent to debloat your shitty Android TV, Android Auto or whatever and you basically get a free upgrade
This way more wild than the photo manipulation tech in Blade Runner or the video controls of Minority Report.
Yes! Biggest bottleneck now is time. I wish I had way more time to explore and build stuff

hi, i'm johnny slopville, welcome to slopass!
Actually, older models were great already, you just had to use them differently, you had to make them produce small pieces of code: "write a function that does x", "convert this switch statement into x", etc...

"But you made fun of it and now you like it? YOU ARE HYPOCRITE"
bro... 3.5 was terrible, 4o was terrible, even early 5's were not great. This idea that approach cannot change due to new information seems insane.
Sol is great, Grok is my goto generally speaking
How is it not fun to program with AI? You're coding with the help of a super smart talking computer that understands you and is also super fast at searching and editing code. Isn't that amazing? Have a sense of wonder!

I don't unfortunately 😕 I'm not sure I even care about programming? Not fun to do it the new way, and feels wasteful to do it the old way.
