The hardest secret I've ever kept.
This for you, Lexi Lou. This is what loving you has become now that you're gone.
Thank God for words.
(And thank God for @WCRice3D and @Anna___Clarky for helping me on my way through this painful and joyful and loved loved story!)

Headed to a thing where a lot of people will be inside together? It's still super dope and good to wear a mask!
Covid sucks and you never know how it's gonna hit you. You also never know if you might be the one to accidentally spread it around!

The longer I do this job the less I care about querying etiquette or the so-called “rules.” The truth is, if the book sounds good and we think we can sell it, nothing else (short of true calamity) really matters.

So sad to hear this. Janet was so helpful for so many of us in the query trenches! Rest in peace. ❤️
Sad news - my beloved agent @Janet_Reid has departed for the great library in the sky. Long before we worked together, her blog & @QueryShark educated me about querying, publishing & writing. She was a generous advice giver who truly listened to writers at all stages.

Tragic to say this out loud, but here it is:
As a #LongCOVID researcher, I strongly urge the public to ignore recent @CDCgov guidance and input from @CDCDirector on the topic of #COVID. It is NOT based on consensus science and it has NOT been designed to protect you. Disgraceful

CDC doesn't really have the means to enforce any of its public health recommendations, but, if anything, that's all the more reason that recommendations made should reflect the science subject to the constraints of what is feasible. Shortening the isolation period from COVID-19 when people will knowingly be contagious will be used as justification to make people to work or be in school while sick, which will facilitate additional transmission and disproportionately affect those who are most vulnerable both medically and socioeconomically. It's true that COVID-19 isn't the same emergency it was in 2020, but that doesn't mean it's benign either and people should have the opportunity to recover. It's disappointing to see and it further erodes trust in the organization.
