Just in: Detroit Pistons All-Defensive forward Ausar Thompson has reached agreement on a five-year, $155 million rookie-scale contract extension, sources tell ESPN.
imagine if an NFL media member told you that you “can’t just use” key stats like sacks, tackle for losses, QB pressures, pressure rate, comp % allowed, to determing who the DPOY is. imagine how bad that person would get clowned.
why can’t we have these standards for the W?
this is gonna be the first DPOY ever in league history to not play 25 minutes per game and WNBA media just doesn’t give a fuck because it just doesn’t matter. oh well.
we’re the only league in sports where traditional/advanced stats and impact metrics are shunned when evaluating end of season awards. I’ve never heard “you can’t just use stats” in any other sports league. what a shame. genuinely.
if your point is eye test, then there isn’t even a comparison between the two. at all frankly.
hopefully, you’re voting based on a combination of eye test, stats and metrics that back up at that eye test, and matchup data.
