Shout out to the colorist of PRIMETIME. What a gorgeous looking film. I was very happy to see them credited in the ending title sequence. Great film.
Robert Pattinson selling tickets to two artistically ambitious, entertaining, non blockbuster movies in one year is the healthiest thing I have seen for domestic box office in a decade.
We need movie stars who sell tickets and work on interesting movies with great filmmakers

The VHS release of Gremlins 2: The New Batch had a brilliant fourth-wall meta gag.
In theatres, halfway through, the “film” seems to melt, the screen goes black, and the Gremlins take over the projection booth. Hulk Hogan (in the audience) rips his shirt off, threatens them, and the movie restarts.
Joe Dante knew that gag wouldn’t work at home, so for the VHS release he filmed an entirely new version: this time, it looks like the Gremlins have gotten inside your VCR, and Hogan is replaced by John Wayne. Which, with modern eyes, looks like AI.
It kinda backfired and caused real confusion (much to Dante's delight). Video rental stores reported some gullible customers returning tapes for refunds, convinced the copy was defective.
Later DVD standard editions restored the theatrical Hogan version, but the John Wayne scene became so beloved it often appears on physical releases as a bonus feature.
Quick prediction: I Play Rocky ends up in best picture mix.
Odyssey will be front runner and likely winner unless Dune 3 is seen as major competitor at which point race breaks open to free for all.
Two guys at McDonalds were talking and I kept hearing word gangbang but couldn't hear context. Either way Im guessing someone will end up shot in the face.

Gus Fring staging his house with children's toys to trick Walt is a genius detail.
On rewatch, the dinner scene at Gus’s house hits completely differently. The set design tells a massive story without drawing direct attention to itself. You can clearly see a ride-on truck and child-sized chairs in the corner, and Gus even drops a line about how his kids hate his Chilean fish stew.
But it’s all a brilliant lie. As the universe expands into Better Call Saul, it becomes obvious Gus lives completely alone and has zero children. In fact, when Jesse goes to the exact same house in Season 4, the toys have completely vanished.
Gus literally went out and bought toy props just for Walt's visit. He understood that the best way to control a dangerous ego like Walter White's was to make Walt believe they shared the exact same family values. It shows just how deep Gus’s psychological warfare really went🙂

Amsterdam is definitely worth a watch because it is the only movie we have about the 1930s attempted coup in the United States.

PARTY DOWN is now on Netflix. If you didn’t catch this great comedy the first time, you’re excused. But catch it now. So many great comic performances. Adam Scott, Jane Lynch, Martin Starr, Ken Marino.
Phil Collins owned radio in the 80s. He'd spend a year doing a solo album and tour and then the next year same with Genesis. Every album had hits. So he said, I gotta get off the radio for a little bit. Starred in a movie that got barely released. But 3 more radio hits. lol
