From Idorenyin Obong, who went from building at Paystack to founding @greyfinance , to Femi Aluko, who helped lead Paystack’s engineering before co-founding @chowdeck ; Douglas Kendyson, who went on to build @tryselar , to Mallick Bolakale, who now runs @StartbuttonHQ ; and Cossi Achille Arouko, who is building @BujetiHQ , Paystack’s alumni have gone on to build companies of their own and shape Africa’s digital economy. And they are only a few of the builders who came through Paystack.

Role: Financial and Treasury Operations Lead
Location: Lagos, Nigeria, or any of the countries where Startbutton is present
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Financial and Treasury Operations Lead at Start Button Limited. The Financial and Treasury Operations Lead will be responsible for safeguarding liquidity, managing cash across countries, and ensuring our financial rails are always ready to serve our merchants. You will be the backbone of our daily transaction fulfillment and treasury strategy across Africa and beyond.
What we are looking for
• 3–6 years of experience in treasury, finance operations, or similar roles at a fintech, bank, or multinational company.
• Core accounting background.
• Experience with cross-border payments, liquidity management, and FX execution — especially in Africa.
• Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP is a plus.
• Deep attention to detail, with a bias for action and problem-solving.
• Understanding of financial controls, regulatory reporting, and inter-company structures.
• Excellent communication skills — you can coordinate across partners, banks, and internal teams with clarity.
• Startup mindset — you’re comfortable in ambiguity and enjoy building systems from the ground up.
