Hi! The deadline to drop off the ballot was late April, just two days after the deadline to turn in signatures. At that point, I was leading the race by every metric - polling, fundraising (with the most small dollar donors, most from Michigan, and zero corporate PAC dollars), volunteers, field.
Suspending my campaign was the hardest decision I’d ever made. The day prior, I received polling back that showed Abdul had a significant lead (38), though Haley and I were fairly close (25 and 21 respectively). I was by no means out of the running. But I was simply drowned out by the over $60M in outside spending.
So now you know. And maybe instead of relitigating the primary endlessly we lock in to beat Mike Rogers, huh?

El-Sayed can't even do honest public health research. He ignored the most basic steps of research--"adjusting for maternal & socioeconomic factors"--to issue a pseudoscience finding that Arab women should "mate" with Arab men.
El-Sayed is a racist.

They assume everyone in the Democratic Party shares their views, believing they alone possess the answers to society’s problems. They don’t. If she were in the House, she would no doubt have voted against Maine lobstermen along with the vast majority of her party, regardless of the human consequences.
Her Ann Arbor proxy, an incumbent, couldn’t even hold the mayor’s seat against the DSA, so McMorrow’s wing must now shill for the DSA-aligned Democrats who have gobbled up her wing of the party.

I don’t believe that Abdul El-Sayed believes that Israel has a right to exist. There is no reason to conclude that he does and his refusal to answer direct questions should alarm every Michigan voter. You will never get a straight answer from this guy if he’s your senator. Never.
