An analysis of skin and blood after #dengue infection in @ScienceAdvances shows a more dramatic reshaping and enrichment of T cells in the skin, indicating that vaccinations bolstering the skin’s immune response could help protect against dengue infection. scim.ag/4drlIcP

We wanted to put over a decade of advances on the immunology surrounding fetal Zika infection in context in our review "Immune mechanisms of congenital Zika syndrome" @SciImmunology. So happy to see it's #openaccess! written with @Abhay_R_ science.org/doi/10.1126/scii…

The @aller_gyimm was officially opened today. The result of a journey which began a long time ago. It really transforms our ability to do research. So thankful to our whole family @aller_gyimm and @chandi2012 for making this happen. Exciting times ahead!

Very inspired that Yaghi, a Palestinian refugee who came to the U.S. at 15 received the 2025 chemistry #NobelPrize . A reminder of the power of education to unleash talent, a testament to U.S. capacity to attract/ enable talent, and how much progress a we lose to incessant wars
This year’s chemistry laureate Omar Yaghi was born in Amman, Jordan, in 1965 to parents who were refugees from Palestine. When we spoke to him he shared his story: “I grew up in a very humble home, we were a dozen of us in one room, sharing it with the cattle that we used to raise. I was born in a family of refugees, and my parents could barely read or write. My father finished sixth grade and my mother couldn’t read or write. It’s quite a journey. Science allows you to do it. Science is the greatest equalising force in the world. Smart people, talented people, skilled people exist everywhere. That’s why we really should focus on unleashing their potential through providing them with opportunity.” Today Yaghi shared the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Susumu Kitagawa and Richard Robson for their work developing metal–organic frameworks. Delighted to see Chia-Lin featured by @JExpMed - one of the #womeninSTEM I’ve always admired.
👩‍🔬 JEM invited NYCU’s Prof. Chia-Lin Hsu to share her journey as a female scientist—founding a lab, chasing dreams, and overcoming challenges. A voice from Taiwan to empower more women in science. 💡 #WomenInSTEM #WomenInScience #NYCU #JEM #TaiwanScience
