EXCL: Senior Reform UK official raised questions about whether major donations from two billionaire backers would be legal under proposed new foreign donors cap three months before they gave £72m to the party.
James Orr, then Reform UK’s head of policy, discussed potential difficulties around future donations from Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo in undercover footage captured by the investigative reporting group Verbatim.
A reporter was posing as a potential donor when Orr talked to him about “filling the war chest in anticipation” of tougher donations rules, describing it as the establishment trying to “kneecap” the party. Story by @rowenamason

82 years ago today, the three Czech composers Viktor Ullmann, Pavel Haas, and Hans Krása were all murdered at Auschwitz. Their operas - and much other wonderful music - stand testimony.

Coverage of the Lucy Letby case should reflect (or at least mention) the unease many feel about the safety of her convictions. A whistleblower on a recent Channel 5 documentary suggested she might have been a scapegoat for unit failures #LucyLetby #R4Today #bbcbreakfast
