Today, I’m excited to announce a major expansion of @Sprig Surveys!
With new multichannel distribution and more advanced survey capabilities, Sprig Surveys is now ready to replace legacy platforms like Qualtrics and SurveyMonkey.
What’s new:
- Native access to external panels with more than 300,000 verified B2B and B2C participants
- Built-in email delivery for large-scale customer research
- Dozens of new capabilities for sophisticated survey research, including Conjoint and MaxDiff
Together with AI research agents embedded across the workflow, these capabilities help teams move from question to defensible insight faster without sacrificing rigor.
I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built and grateful to every customer who has helped shape it.

At Ramp we ship a new major feature every day - it's impossible for leaders stay up to speed.
To keep a high bar without slowing folks down, teams can ship to early access tier whenever they want but need review for general release.
Crazy fact: 10% of customers opt into early access because they can't get enough. That's 5000+ businesses. Plenty to work with.
To release to general public, teams need to prove this product works and get sign off for heads of eng, product and design. Here is our template:
1. What did we build and why
2. What's the demo in < 3mn (loom)
3. Did we meet our goals in early access (hex dash)
4. Are customers raving about this (LLM on Zendesk tickets, Sprig surveys, and Gong transcripts)
5. Will customers easily discover and start using it (first time user journey)
6. Is sales ready to sell, AM ready to activate, and support ready to troubleshoot
7. Do we have a clear rollout plan (launch tier, pricing, coms)
This helps us document decisions, serves as a strong checklist, and feeds our release notes. Most importantly, it keeps the bar high (we expect at least 1 rev of feedback).
The best part: most of this template is automated using AI connected to the rest of our business sytems.
Leadership has 48h to review or it ships.
We think it's a great way to balance speed & empowerment with process and quality.

Should product leaders embrace founder mode?
When Sprig was just getting started, I was in full founder mode—every detail, every decision, every deliverable.
It wasn’t a choice; it was survival. That intensity helped us move fast and become one of the quickest companies to achieve product/market fit.
But founder mode doesn’t always scale.
As our team grew, I realized I couldn’t stay in the weeds forever. To thrive as a product leader, I had to shift gears—balancing hands-on involvement with empowering my team to take ownership.
Here’s what worked for me:
1️⃣ Checkpoints to Manage the Work
- Set up weekly check-ins to review progress at critical milestones (20% and 80% stages) for specs and designs
- Align early to catch gaps without stifling creativity—spot issues before they snowball
2️⃣ Set Clear Expectations for Founder Mode
- Tell your team the 3-5 areas where you'll be hands-on at the start of each month or quarter
- Empower them to own everything else—trust builds momentum
3️⃣ Focus on Team Development
- Use weekly 1:1s to discuss team growth—not just deliverables
- Create individual development plans to help your team level up their skills and confidence
The key? Founder mode isn’t about control. It’s about building momentum. The best product leaders know when to lean in and when to step back.
