As Democrats, we constantly criticize the far-right for their incendiary and discriminatory politics, but we need to hold ourselves to the same standard. Hasan Piker’s rhetoric is polarizing and dangerous, and embracing him as a party is a mistake. I am disappointed that Minnesota DFLers are hosting an event with him here.

If Mamdani starts to take money from the Israeli lobby, sits down with the Israeli lobby, or does anything that is tangebly zionist, then I will be protesting him too. But at this point, going to a vigil and then eating at a Palestinian restaurant afterward with Palestinian families is not something I will be using my platform to protest. Frankly, there are WAY bigger fish to fry.
