Altman said that his comments had been taken out of context.
“I actually do want the world to have tons of memory and people to put as much as they want in their computers, and it is fucking annoying that this was taken out of context,”
“I want you to have so much RAM. Let’s build more.”
Altman even changed his name on X to “Ram Altman”
Yeah every tech company said this since this all started that the next years gonna be the peak then the next. It’s never ending bro
Team Group, a company that makes RAM and SSDs, warns that the memory shortage hasn’t peaked yet.
The company said the worst period could hit between late 2026 and mid-2027 and warned that buying memory could become difficult even for customers willing to pay higher prices.
DDR5 chip prices have also jumped from $8.70 in October 2025 to around $48 in September 2026.
They dont expect supply to catch up with demand until late 2028 or even later.
