Replying to @BurnedOperator @Matt_Bracken48
And you believe that the US Navy would attempt an amphibious landing on Iranian shores?
I once did a bit of research on the question and determined that, at a distance sufficient to effect unrefueled insertions, it would take about 24 hours to land a 2000-strong MEU.
And the drones and missiles would be flying in. By the dozens. Hour after hour. Soon one destroyer and then another would be forced to withdraw with empty magazines.
And you can't move too far, because you're running a launch/recover loop for aircraft with limited range.
And the drones and missiles keep coming ...
Surely there are American naval officers who understand how nucking futs such an undertaking would be. Would they really obey the orders? Would they not at least have the wisdom and courage to abort the operation at an early stage before it turned into a complete disaster?
I suppose these are rhetorical questions, but they are the kinds of things I think about when I ponder the limits of imperial hubris in these autumn days of what has already been an extraordinary year.

The warmongers continually lie about the “Russian threat!” and “democratic Ukraine”. It’s nothing but cheap propaganda…
On Piers Morgan Uncensored, The Grayzone's Max Blumenthal slammed Jacob Rees-Mogg's call for a major hike in British military spending and slashing "stupid welfare":
"When this war economy starts, and when the war actually starts, and they start tempting nuclear annihilation, it's going to be the poor and working class children who go and fight for Latvia and Estonia against Putin.
It's not going to be the children of the wealthy elite. And that's a sacrifice that Jacob is willing to make."

U.S. mounted a violence coup in Ukraine in 2014, and there was warmongering John McCain getting off on it all, wringing his hands over the prospect of a war with Russia…
February 2014. Maidan Square, Kyiv. John McCain filming the protests, standing shoulder to shoulder with US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt, while Victoria Nuland stands just behind them.
A striking snapshot of Washington’s direct involvement in Ukraine’s political upheaval.
The same officials who spoke so confidently about democracy were right there amid the turmoil surrounding the removal of a democratically elected president.
This raises an uncomfortable question: was this truly about defending Ukrainian democracy, or about Washington advancing its own geopolitical agenda at Ukraine’s expense?

Makes perfect sense. Which is why arrogant dishonest Eurocrats would rather burn their own countries down before ever taking responsibility for the epic failure they created….
German MEP and veteran politician Michael von der Schulenburg explains it all: “If we were to negotiate now, we would first have to recognize that the reason for the war was NATO expansion. And if we recognize that, then we also recognize that the war is our fault…
And if we enter negotiations, there can be no other result except for Ukraine to become neutral. So it will not be part of NATO, and as a neutral country, it will not be part of the European Union either.”

MORE REASONS WHY WE MUST KEEP CASH!
🚨 Google lost power in London this morning and Revolut, a bank with 80 million customers, went down with it.
I've spent the morning reading what Revolut users went through. It's wild.
People stranded at petrol stations, unable to pay for fuel or a taxi to the airport.
One traveller couldn't get out of a train station in Japan.
A 71-year-old woman stood at a supermarket till for an hour. Her kid had to drive 30km to bring her cash.
Card payments, transfers, ATM withdrawals, currency exchange, share trading. All down.
Revolut's statement said "all our customers' money and data are safe."
Safe. You just can't touch it.
Google's explanation so far is a "power event" in one zone of its London cloud region. Its advice to affected customers was to move their workloads to another zone or region "if feasible."
Must be nice. Revolut customers couldn't even move £10.
In July the UK government put Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft and Oracle under direct Bank of England oversight, because one outage at any of them could shake the entire financial system.
12 days ago the Bank of England ran a drill with the UK's 38 biggest banks and market operators. The scenario they practised was a global cloud outage.
And exactly one year ago today, AWS went down and took Lloyds and Halifax with it.
Same date. Different cloud. Lloyds was having problems again this morning.
Revolut spent five years earning a UK banking licence.
Bitcoin has been running for almost 18 years. It doesn't have a London region.

"Musk’s tech used in strike that killed Russian students – investigators
Two of at least seven Ukrainian drones used in a strike on a Russian college which killed 21 people earlier this year were equipped with Starlink terminals, investigators have established.
The nighttime attack on a college dormitory in Starobelsk in the Lugansk People’s Republic took place in May and was classified as a deliberate terrorist attack by Russia’s Investigative Committee. Its chairman, Aleksandr Bastrykin, discussed findings from the investigation in an interview with RIA Novosti published on Monday.
“The Ukrainian armed forces used at least seven drones identified as Fire Point 1, Fire Point 2, Sichen and RZ-100, two of which were controlled via the Starlink satellite communication system,” he said.
The strike also injured scores of civilians and caused an estimated $14.5 million in damage, according to Bastrykin. Investigators identified Robert Brodi, commander of Ukraine’s drone forces, Oleg Ivashchenko, head of Ukrainian military intelligence, and Andrey Klimenko, commander of the 414th drone brigade, as the main suspects, he added..."

🇷🇺 BREAKING: NATO Announces Additional Aircraft and Drone Deployments to the Black Sea
Following a North Atlantic Council meeting in Brussels, NATO announced plans to deploy additional maritime patrol aircraft, surveillance drones and radar systems to the Black Sea.
The move follows a series of attacks on commercial shipping near Romania and Bulgaria.
Seven sailors remain missing following attacks on two chemical tankers last week. At least five additional cargo vessels have reportedly been struck, with 23 sailors reported dead or missing.
NATO is also deploying intelligence personnel and forensic teams to investigate the explosives used in the attacks.
NATO has not formally attributed responsibility for the attacks.

US naval posture in the Mediterranean has also significantly decreased, for the simple reason that the US Navy lacks the warships to maintain a significant naval presence in more than one region at any given time.
The US Navy can only deploy about 60 surface warships in total.

⚓️‼️ The US Navy Cannot Sustain A Significant Naval Presence in the Arabian Sea
Many observers are worked up today about the old news that CSG-9 (USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71) is headed to the Arabian Sea.
What most people are failing to understand is that the US Navy simply does not have the capability to sustain even a 2-carrier fleet in the Arabian Sea, let alone a 3-carrier fleet including 2 amphibious ready groups, 2 cruisers, and 10 destroyers.
As best I can ascertain, the US warship count in the region (counting the not-yet-arrived CSG-9) would be:
3 aircraft carriers: ~15,000 mouths
2 amphibious ready groups: ~8000
2 cruisers: ~700
10 destroyers: ~3250
That makes a total of ~27,000 mouths that need to be fed 3x/day.
The closest bases are thousands of miles away.
The recent disastrous extended deployments of the USS Gerald R. Ford and the USS Abraham Lincoln underscore what happens on these big ships after extended deployments. Things go to hell in a handbasket, and sailors start jumping off the decks to escape the madness.
I consider it not only unlikely, but very likely physically impossible for the US to sustain 3 carrier strike groups for more than just a few weeks near Iran — not now, nor at any time in the foreseeable future.
Could they briefly station a 3-carrier fleet in the region with the intent to launch a week or two of attacks against Iranian targets? Sure. It could be done for a short period of time.
But if they attempt to do this, I predict we will finally see the Iranians make a determined effort to strike US warships, and they will succeed. The US Navy will be exposed as a 20th century relic incapable of fighting a 21st century war.
