Israel is the size of New Jersey. Iran is more than twice the size of Texas. David still fights Goliath.

I hate people like this. Bro if we never let artists do weird shit you wouldn’t have 80% of the media you love and cherish today.

...you can't?
Here is a map of the Middle East without any of the countries named. Without googling it, can you point out where Israel and Iran are? I can’t. So I simply don’t care about what’s happening there.

Groan. In 1918, most lumber in North America came from old-growth forests (adiós, California redwoods!). These trees grew slowly over centuries in dense, competitive conditions, resulting in very tight growth rings and naturally dense, strong wood. These forests largely don’t exist anymore. Today’s lumber is almost always plantation-grown softwood (often Southern Yellow Pine or fast-growing Spruce, Pine, Fir species). These trees are grown for speed and volume, not density, specifically to avoid cutting down older growth forests.

We have very little evidence for cannibalism among the pre-Columbian Mesoamericans. What evidence we do have is primarily from Spanish sources, conveniently after the Spanish Crown decreed that cannibalism tribes were not Spanish subjects and exempt from legal protection.

I really like the idea that chuds circle around sometimes that conquistadors did all that because they were concerned about the democracy index and recent Human Rights Watch reports in Mesoamerican societies.

are you twelve years old?
for years ive been puzzled by the uniquely american obsession with disgusting bitter IPA beer. but i finally figured it out. bitter taste receptors are affected by serotonin in the brain. the american IPA craze is literally caused by the proliferation of SSRI anti depressants

Hasan: "you seem to have a lot of grievances not pertaining to the issue at hand." Ethan Klein: "the issue at hand is your behavior." Hasan: "no, I think the issue at hand is the genocide." sums it up. sums it up.

“you should have children because it will give your life meaning like nothing else will” is a profoundly reactionary statement, and also not true at all sorry!

What i find repellent isn’t people saying their children give their lives meaning, but rather treating the question of whether to have children as part of kind of project of conscious self-optimisation that would have bewildered every generation of their ancestors
fellas...is it reactionary to say your children give your life meaning?
