Wow - riding to the station just now (4 minute ride) and the 2nd driver to pass me winds his window down and shouts : "Get on the footpath w@nker"
The sh!t you have to put up with riding a bike.

New tech trialled by @TransportForWM to improve safety by giving walkers & cyclists priority over vehicles. Installed at road crossings detecting cyclists earlier enabling traffic signals to go green sooner. Our director of external affairs @SarahMcMonagle commented on the trial:
Finally got to listen to this today (whilst driving ironically). Really great to hear the Secretary of State for Transport explain that the importance of Active Travel to solving the public health and the climate emergency is understood.

Interesting 20mph stuff!
LTT roughly estimate the casualties avoided in🏴by 20mph saved £20M for the first 3 months.
If the casualty figures in Q1 2024 are similar, the 20mph associated savings will exceed the £34m implementation cost within just the 1st 6 months!
