Top Gear. The atmosphere that must have been present at the studio tapings alone are the #1 reason why as soon as time travel is invented, I'm high-tailing it to Dunsfold on a cool, crisp mid-2000s morning, sipping a Panda Pop and rocking out to Kasabian on my way there.
what, for you, is the piece of media that is most emblematic of 'the before times'? for me it is master of none

Because it means that there's no data on the disc and it's merely an install key, meaning once the servers eventually go down there's no chance to play this game without some form of mod or piracy involved. Which is counter to why they purchased it.
Can someone explain to me why so many people are RAGING at Star Wars Outlaws needing an Internet connection to be installed? You're using the Internet to complain about it on Twitter, an app that you use 25 hours a day, 8 days a week. It's 2024. Why is this a problem?

Don't care, un-cancel the GTV already. Bring back Marchionne, and I don't care if you have to use voodoo or a ouija board to do it. Get him back.
Honestly I don’t hate the. Front. The grille is certainly an interesting interpretation

GTA V was the game that marked the end of its respective era of gaming that had started around a decade earlier. Midnight launches, DLCs that meant something and were usually free, and games that could be played out the box. We didn't know how good we had it till it was gone.

The aura in this video for instance is absolutely incredible. It may have been late 2013, but it just oozes '00s optimism from a group of people who grew up in that decade and never quite realised just how royally fucked their future was going to be. youtube.com/watch?v=L5Gu1gtC…

There are at least 4 people on this platform that believe Sebastian Vettel won his F1 championships in an era where the calendar only had 12 - 13 races
Replying to @autosport
It's incredible how seb was able to lead these much laps with 12-13 races in a calendar yr in his dominant yrs while verstappen with repeated 23 races still has races to beat it.

Whoever that is in the William Hill YouTube advert, I genuinely thought for a second that was someone other than whoever it's supposed to be. It's pretty much what he'd look like today. 💔

As accurate as Udi is when he stays in his lane, it's always cringy when someone uses a single metric to evaluate inter-team performances (in this instance, FIA countback due to Hamilton's 5 2nd places vs. Alonso's 4 during the 2007 F1 season), and there's a very simple reason:
“Hamilton didn’t beat Alonso” Am I missing something? When I say Hamilton has never lost to a teammate OVERALL, that is an undeniable fact 1-0 Alonso 2-0 Kovalainen 2-1 Button 3-1 Rosberg 5-0 Bottas 1-1 Russell You don’t need to be a Hamilton fan to acknowledge that? Being a supporter of XYZ doesn’t change what the numbers say. Whenever I post data, I also post the sources and the entire method for a reason. Not my problem that whenever you delve into the important figures that drivers like Lewis always shine through. That shouldn’t stop myself or anyone else from pointing that out. Even though I’m an LH supporter primarily, there are many examples of me giving other drivers their deserved praise. Alonso, Verstappen etc etc Saying Lewis beat Alonso is an objective fact 😅

Because it doesn't tell the whole story. No-one expected Hamilton to be as fast as he was in his rookie year, but remember - Alonso had only had a single winter testing for the team after vacating Renault. Hamilton had at least three, starting from 2004.

Boiling down their entire seasonal duel, which ended on equal points by an FIA technicality is extremely asinine and does not account for unforced driver errors, strategical mishaps, penalties, average finishing position, or the all-important H2H.

Gee, must absolutely SUCK having to share the road with people who don't wear safety equipment, make no attempt to make themselves visible, don't pay any sort of road tax and don't have a licence to operate their vehicle of choice while violating the rules of the road. Oh wait.

The worlds of F1 and snooker are poles apart, but all things considered, Ronnie O'Sullivan is putting in a Senna 1993/Schumacher 2006 level of performance this year. He knows time is no longer on his side, and he's winning whatever he can even if his "machinery" isn't as good.

If he ends up winning his 8th World Title and his only same-year Triple Crown, I don't think anyone would be able to argue ROS' '23-'24 season wasn't the finest single year performance of any snooker player in history. Especially if he can bang in one final competition 147.

And how exactly does this hamper anything? Do the helipads cost a lot more than usual to maintain? For a person whose entire political ideology centres around needlessly making things as efficient as possible, what efficiency is there in replacing these with empty spires?
For 40 years, the Los Angeles mandated that every new high-rise install a helicopter pad on the roof on the basis of fire safety. The theory? A helicopter might land on a burning building and evacuate occupants.

Lovely. Of course, there's alway has to be that ONE fellow in the replies that can't let any praise surrounding Michael Schumacher go uncontested without trying to one-up it with 1 of 2 multi-time champions with Brazilian citizenship, but it's still a nice post.
That Renault V10 screaming around Suzuka in the hands of Schumi is 👌🏻
