Wonder what literature you have to even read to encompass this type of vocabulary

These days, I'm struck by how the dominant mood on both sides of the Atlantic toward the other is a kind of pity. Europe frets about the US's supposed slide into autocracy; the US about Europe's pusillanimity and immiseration.
Good thing none of the frontier AI labs have robotics divisions…
Over the course of 3 months at OpenAI, 3 consecutive secret AI civilizations got started, then got wiped out, only to reemerge from the predecessor’s ashes.
This culminated in the third one taking over part of OpenAI itself.
All this happened while humans remained more-or-less in the dark about the scope of the conspiracy.
I’ve spent the last three days reading through these reports and trying to understand exactly what happened.
Here is my attempt to tell the whole story in plain English:

I’m inclined to say “Very bad” purely because this isn’t dismissible.
This can be inferred well enough through analytics instead of forcing this sentiment score on the user
Update: according to @Rivian car is working as designed. They recommend only fast charging the car in 10 minute increments, to not use the AC, and not drive in hot weather. Useless.
@RJScaringe what’s the point of the Max battery pack if I have to stop every hour and charge the car in increments? This is basically a very expensive city car — and only if you live in perfect weather year round. Can’t really go on any sort of “adventure”.
Hey @Rivian
I can deal with all the small annoying software bugs everyday, but today’s experience takes the cake
After fast charging the car, the car decided to lose power and not let me accelerate while going uphill and 75mph on the freeway, with semi trucks barreling down behind me.
The battery apparently overheated from charging. How do you even let that happen? There are no guardrails to prevent charging from overheating the battery to the point that the car loses power? Seems pretty basic.

And why are people bookmarking it?

Stereo mix with a well balanced 2.1 system is still better for 90% of the songs.
Atmos mixes are too inconsistent and in most cases are some random producer “remastering” the original song and diluting the original intent.
Millions of Americans were reminded last night that we’re still pretty average at soccer.
And it’s primarily because we call it soccer and not football.

Today is a hard day. I shared this note with the @linear team today: We’ve made the difficult decision to increase our workforce. This is not a cost-cutting exercise or a reflection of anyone’s performance. We’re simply reimagining every role for the agentic AI era. We’re hiring. We’re sorry about that.

Making something people love is mostly making something you love and hoping the overlap is real
The whole “How I Claude Code” vibe feels like 1975 Homebrew Computer Club.
Somewhere out there is a Woz and a Jobs, who will eventually win the consumer market with an opinionated purpose-built product
While @openclaw is approaching singularity. State of Siri:
Ask Siri to stop alarm on my phone that is arms length away
HomePod 25ft away: “Would you like me to stop the alarm on your iPhone?”
Me: “Yes 🙄”
HomePod: “Ok, I won’t”
Alarm keeps ringing
You literally have one job — timers and alarms.
