Astonishing scenes from inside the Japan Airlines A350 that caught fire arriving at Haneda today.
News reports it collided with a coastguard plane that may have been part of earthquake rescue efforts.
Incredibly all 367 passengers and 12 crew members successfully evacuated.

It seems like there wasn't a major tsunami, but the damage from the quake itself has been catastrophic in certain areas.
I'll be sharing a few charities as they start to pop up; hope we can make a difference for some of the people that just had their lives upended!

Ishikawa prefecture was hit with a massive earthquake and devastating tsunami on the first day of 2024, and Yahoo Japan have just opened up a donation pool to support those that have been affected.
As someone who lives in Japan, loves Japan deeply and has had my home affected by natural disasters in the past, I feel its my duty to spread the word about this and try to help in any way that I can.

A very nasty earthquake on Japan's west coast today.
If you're in the area of Ishikawa Prefecture in particular (Kanazawa city), be aware there's a major tsunami warning of potentially 3-5 meters.
Stay safe and get to high ground if you're along the west coastline between Yamagata and Fukui.

The Tsunami Warning has been upgraded to a Major Tsunami Warning. Waves of up to 5m are expected. Those near coastal areas, rivers, or lakes should evacuate to higher ground immediately. #tsunami
