Made yardage books for my players using @ShotPattern tonight - remarkably easy!!! Impressed by the details and amount of info it contains, think this will help them navigate a course they’ve never seen before the state finals.

Course management is very simple if you understand your dispersion pattern.
Psychological strength can come from the confidence you have in your ability to hit the golf shot you want
It’s pretty hard to be confident if you’re off for 22 handicap and you hit the ball sideways all the time
There’s just no proof that you can hit the shots required
So get really good at controlling your golf ball and then you’ll be confident

Celts win the Kent Miller Invitational at Vernon View with a school record 268 (-20)! Blaise 64, Harrison 66, Evan 68, Brady 70, Akash 75. Fun to play in a pod so we could watch all the boys throughout the round. Coach C- you’re the best!! Thx to @TTCrouch22 for the invite!

@ShotPattern. It has GPS maps of every course with a movable dispersion graphic, live wind, green maps. It also allows you to input your rounds and then calculates your strokes gained, dispersion with every club, average score etc. It’s superb.

This is a problem I see amateurs make all the time and it leads to double bogeys or worse!
And it’s so easy to change to keep double bogeys or worse off your card.

Ever wondered if you should hit a certain shot? This is a great rule for you to think about when picking a target.

Getting to scratch⛳️
In my experience:
Advice from Scratch & Plus Hcp’s: “It’s mostly about increasing your GIR and avoiding big misses leading to penalties”
Advice from Higher Hcp’s: “Spend ~75%+ of your practice time on chipping and putting”
(Tip: use a strokes gained app)

Keys to lowering scores! No penalties off the tee with Eli from You should always be pushing your targets away from big numbers. This way you hit more fairways and your not to great shots are still in play so you can hit the green still in regulation and stop big numbers.

An absolutely perfect day for golf out at Miami Valley. Some takeaways heading into Tuesday’s qualifier:
- Driver in a much better spot now. Fully committed to eliminating the left side off the tee
- Irons weren’t super crisp today…strokes gained was carried by a near hole out on 5 (pic 2)
- Put on a lag putting clinic today. Speed control was dialed
- Even par and easily left 3 strokes out there today without my A+ game
A little range session this weekend to clean up the irons a touch and I’m feeling good about next week 💪🏻

Official registration for the 2026 season opens tomorrow.
All former & returning members will have 72 hrs to register, and then registration links will be sent to everyone who pre-registered. If needed, we’ll then open registration to the public via our website.
Each flight per tour will have 25 spots available, once all spots are gone the flight will be ‘out of stock’. Spots are on a first come, first serve basis.

Thanks to @ShotPattern I have all my stats from the last two seasons.
Went from -1.0 strokes gained vs scratch in 2024 to +0.1 strokes gained vs scratch in 2025.
New putter in spring of last year combined with a putting lesson. Still more room for improvement.

Patrick Rodgers: 312th career PGA Tour start at RSM Classic, most among active players without a win.
Michael Thorbjornsen: 45th start.
They will both enter Sunday at T-2, two shots back of leader Sami Valimaki.
Said Rodgers on Saturday: “Everyone’s on their own journey. For me, a lot of my sort of understanding at this point of my career has been through failure and through trial and error, kind of learned a lot of lessons the hard way. But I feel really at peace with who I am as a player. I don’t feel like my life as a PGA Tour player hinges on me winning tomorrow, and I think that’s a powerful place to play from.”
Stanford alum Maverick McNealy broke through for his first PGA Tour victory at last year’s RSM Classic.
Could another Cardinal follow Sunday in Sea Island?
Tied for second are Michael Thorbjornsen and Patrick Rodgers, both not only Stanford products but former world No. 1 amateurs as well.
Let’s start with Thor. He’s 24 years old, a past USGA champion (2018 U.S. Junior) and earned his PGA Tour card via PGA Tour University last year. He’s had some injuries, most notably a back issue that sidelined him for the back half of 2023, but he’s one of the Tour’s brightest young stars, seemingly destined to win and win a bunch.
Of course, that’s what everyone thought about Rodgers. He is arguably one of the best five or six college players of the last 15 years. He played on two Walker Cup teams, once before he even got to college. He then won 11 times in three seasons at Stanford, tied with McNealy and Tiger Woods, and swept the postseason awards (Haskins, Hogan, Nicklaus) in 2014. He earned his 2015 KFT card via KFT Finals but also became a special temporary member on the PGA Tour in 2015 thanks in large part to a T-2 at Wells Fargo.
Rodgers, now 33, has been on the PGA Tour full-time since the 2015-16 season, has four runners-up among 29 top-10s, has earned $18,294,832 and will finish inside the top 100 in the FedExCup this year for the seventh time in 10 seasons.
However, Rodgers is still chasing that elusive first win.
Could that change Sunday at RSM? Or will Thor, or someone else, deny Rodgers yet again?

It breaks down your year, compares you to your target handicap, and shows the leaks you swore “weren’t a big deal.”
Spoiler: they are.
Most golfers practice blind.
This is the first tool I’ve seen that actually fixes that.
Not motivation. Not swing tips.
Truth.

If you didn’t track a single shot this year, fine.
