Nick Blakey has completed a seismic move to North Melbourne, ripping another star out of the Sydney Swans as the club’s list management continues to haemorrhage talent.
The Roos have locked in the 26 year old defender by handing over pick 6, a 2028 first rounder, pick 47 and two future second rounders.
In return the Swans coughed up pick 52 and a future second rounder, a deal that leaves Sydney further stripped of high end draft capital after years of trading away the future.
Fans are rightly furious at Swans management for letting a generational talent escape just as he hits his absolute prime at 26 years old.
How does a club with Sydney's proud history just roll over and let Arden Street plunder their best assets?
