Margins vanish fast as efficiency drops. At 7:1 FCR you’re barely breaking even—even with $11/kg. Feed efficiency is the cornerstone of feedlot profitability.

Who would have thought you could wear merino in the heat!! One of the many perceptions about wool that the industry needs to change! #softonskin #machinewashable #coolintheheat #noprickle #lightweight #merinoisking
Most of last week was spent in Bangkok. I am Scottish, therefore humidity kills me - but I can definately recommend @steve_noa merino polos for holding up in intense humidity. themerinopolo.com.au/collect…

We're back baby.... take #2 Will we see the same reaction as we saw 6 weeks ago when growers and brokers dragged out as much wool as they could?? Keep offerings under 30/35k we are a good chance of going higher.

As our season cut out, we trained this year’s lambs onto barley ahead of weaning. Adaptation to concentrate feeds stimulates early rumen development, improves feed conversion efficiency, and helps mitigate the growth check often associated with weaning.🌾#Highlandersheep

Didn’t quite crack 150 but bloody close. 149% lambs marked from ewe lms paddocked. 0.8% ewe mortality. 0 dystocia. 13% dry at scanning which included ewe lms from ewe lms. Overall 160% weaned and marked over entire preg ewe flock including lms👌. Shit start but super happy.

A while a go there were a bunch of activist tweets that only 37 farms in WA were engaged in the Live Export of Sheep. I could not work out where this came from, until today. A DAFF official misspoke. They were only off by a factor of 100.

Sheep falling on their backs happens a lot and can be fatal. It typically happens to pregnant sheep, more vulnerable to falling over. If you find a sheep like this, grab a good handful of wool and turn it around. You could save a life of a sheep.🙏

It’s a great feeling weaning lambs.Grow more grass, allocate the best feed to your lambs and most importantly recover ewe condition for next years income. Achieve consistency in your business.

Outlook for summer: climate models aren't sure about rainfall, but it looks like temperatures will be higher than average. September is looking like it will be a hot month also, with 33C forecast for Morawa for Thursday. Thankfully they had some finishing rain last week. #climate

Is it because they had no choice? But if we were using causation, then sheep numbers in WA have dropped because of the continued burden put upon sheep producers for no more gain. EiD is just another cost.
