The Gender Summit is currently underway with students from Mashonaland Province. This year's Gender Summit is running under the theme: Student Dignity & the Struggle Against Gender Exploitation on Campus. This is meant to advance a clear argument that meaningful education requires more than access to lecture rooms. Students must be able to learn in conditions that protect their dignity, safety, equality and basic needs including food, accommodation and healthcare.
Education cannot therefore be genuinely emancipatory where students are humiliated, exploited or denied the conditions needed to learn and participate with dignity.

Whatever the story may be, it's high time GBV is met with a harsh response.
The alleged killer, if caught, must apologize publicly to the whole student community before facing the full wrath of the law. In a case like this, he must NOT be given bail.
Imagine 4 years. Nobody knows how far she had come. Maybe she was the one to break the generational curse. Maybe she carried the hopes of a whole family who saw her as an investment.
Life as a student in Zim is already hard, especially from a financially strained background. It's high time the Government of Zimbabwe prioritized education and funded our education. This is the root cause of everything - some students end up with dangerous people just to cover school needs.

When we joined the struggle, we knew that three things could happen to us, either the brutal regime in Harare would arrest us or kill us, but if they don't kills us, we would achieve our freedom!
After spending two nights in police detention, being interrogated and questioned over my participation in CDF and Sungano, I was released today. I had been arrested and charged under the Cyber and Data Protection Act, accused of transmitting data with the intention of inciting public violence and causing damage to property in connection with the Sungano YeVanhu #FairYellowSunday campaign, which took place in July 2026.
I was interrogated and questioned about this case and about the prayer meeting on Justice, Peace and Prosperity in Zimbabwe, which was scheduled to take place yesterday at Harare Gardens. Ultimately, the State failed to establish a substantive case against me, and I was released after being fined for disorderly conduct.
We remain strong, resolute and unshaken. Detention will never break our resolve, intimidation will never silence our voices, and repression will never extinguish the struggle for justice, democracy and freedom.
Allow me to also express my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to everyone who stood in solidarity with me during this period of detention. The visits, posts, messages, prayers and acts of solidarity will never go unnoticed or unappreciated. Your support reminded me that, even in moments of repression, we are never alone.
