Really interesting interactive audience & speaker panel discussion chaired by BactiVac Advisory Board member Peter Borriello. Lots interesting points being raised about the challenges faced in developing bacterial vaccines for veterinary infections in both high income and low income country settings.

The 2024 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun for the discovery of microRNA and its role in post-transcriptional gene regulation.
Extremely happy to see this paper out!
Building from our previous work (see doi.org/10.1016/j.vaccine.20…), we have looked into exploiting outer membrane vesicles from Neisseria cinerea to express multiple meningococcal antigens.

Glad to see our lipase/FAME story out @CommsBio after constructive peer-review overseen by an excellent editor @TobiasGoris. Many thanks @DoroKretschmer @AndreasPeschel1 @CoE_CMFI and everyone involved. Take a look: nature.com/articles/s42003-0…
Happy to share the first preprint of my group @CoE_CMFI. We probed how bacteria hijack cholesterol to detoxify antimicrobial fatty acids. The answer for Staph aureus is the lipase Lip2.
Grateful to students and collaborators who joined us on this ride
