Thanks for coming to visit us once again Will. 🚂👍
Great to get out along the @nymr to learn about how they have stayed on track through the pandemic. Here’s a shorter version of my TV piece that aired this week (interviews cut-down for Twitter)

Commiserations to @AvantiWestCoast for just missing the APT’s record 640km run between London Euston and Glasgow Central, missing the record by only 21 seconds. It was a fantastic attempt, but after 37 years the APT remains undefeated. 💪 #APT

another view from 1945, the other coal tip was at the old arm and trucks can be seen there, also the training ship Vindicatrix and the newly built camp, you can just make out how the railway line goes to the left from the high bridge towards the Severn bridge.

#Heritage, in all it's glory!.....
As Charing Cross Station opened on this day in 1864 (11 Jan), here's an image of its original signal box. In the 1920s/30s people disliked the station so much that there were calls to pull it and the bridge over the Thames down. This begs the question, does anyone like it now?

This last year has made us appreciate our heritage more than ever, especially our Falling Sands Viaduct, newly restored and good for another 150 years, thanks to our generous donors and @HeritageFundUK. Another reason to celebrate #HeritageTreasures Day svr.co.uk

Such a pity none of these survived
Here's another of Robert's #IlfordSporti snaps, and another railbus. It is Park Royal railbus M79972 emitting a cloud of exhaust at Inverness on 11 June 1964. Dented; I wonder how that happened.
