i once got over 100 people to signup through a link i shared
i was so happy with the numbers because from where i was, it looked like the campaign had done really well
funny enough, i found out 69 were bots
that was when i realized that bringing people in and bringing the right people in are two very different things.
and if you're a KOL, you've prolly had a similar experience bfr
that brings us to this question
"who are the people behind the numbers? "
๐ป
It was a lot of fun. @ownershipfm thanks for having us.
Look at the video and guess how much was @MHauzr tired :D
"Google Analytics for crypto."
Segmento founder Marek pitches a way to measure the real users and revenue each KOL brings, not just impressions:
"A while back, on a different project, KOLs were sending us messages, essentially selling followers for two tweets, and we never knew whether it's a scam or whether it's legit."
"At the end, what you care about is the traction you're getting, not the followers, not the impressions, not the reposts. You care about the users you're acquiring. You care about TVL, fees, revenue, retention."
"Segmento maps the KOLs to wallets that listen to those KOLs. Imagine you would be working with two KOLs. One would bring you 100 users, the other 100 users too, same amount of fees, but you have a budget to work with only one of them."
"You can pick either based on your feelings, or you can pick based on the data, and what you want to know is what the lifetime value of the users you acquire actually is."
"KOLs have the same issue. They pitch themselves to projects, and when they have a track record of the onchain activity they bring, they can distinguish themselves and get better fees."
"We've onboarded 11 projects, seven of them in the last month. In the last month, we also onboarded 250 KOLs onto the platform."

You got the views, the likes, and the repostsโฆ but did any of that attention actually bring results?
One thing about Web3 marketing is that a project can get hundreds of posts, thousands of impressions and people talking about it everywhere.
But hereโs the real question: how much of that attention actually did something?
Did people check out the project? Did they take action? Did the campaign bring any real results?
This is where @SegmentoTech comes in.
Imagine this: agent to agent conversation between influencer and a project. The efficiency improvements...
You as an influencer have an AI agent reaching out to potential clients. Don't deny it ;) at a certain point you just have to do that.
As a project you are doing your best to reply to DMs. It is pain to do that for most projects, but you do your best. When influencers reach out with "$100 for 2 tweets" it is always the same conversation, you try to convince them to go for perfromance pay and try to get a case study from them. In 95% of time it is not gonna happen, but when it does it tends to be worth it.
Now imagine as a project, you would have an AI agent that would be replying to those messages and sorting things out. Figuring out whether there is a relevant case study, whether the audience of the influencer is a fit and so on. You would save 95% of your time on this and the scale could be way bigger! You could be getting 10x of the influencer traction and pick who ever you like.
I feel like a genious... need someone to tell what is wrong with this!

I was invited to roast early-stage founders participating in the @Colosseum Hackathon.
I took some time to watch the recording again and share more constructive feedback.
First, I wanted to go project by project, but then realized there's common feedback that applies across the board if you're presenting to a potential investor or a business partner:
You need to present yourself in the best possible light (quite literally).
You need a good internet connection.
Good lighting, clear sound, no background noise.
No weird sh*t going on (unless you're naturally a little bit weird and can't help it)
Don't talk too much.
Be aware of the verbal ticks, such as "uhm" and "like", as these can be distracting.
Don't swear and don't use slang; it's unprofessional
Pitch deck
It's 2026, and people don't have much attention or patience.
Each slide should read as a single sentence.
Less text, fewer bullet points, fewer images, less explanation. Less is more.
What you're saying should match what's written.
When you involve both eyes and ears, you increase the chance of delivering your message.
What's in it for ME?
If you want to raise funds, I, as an investor, am evaluating the business opportunity, but at this early stage, when there's often no company โ I'm evaluating YOU. ๐ซต
How are you going after your first users?
What's the traction? How has your execution been lately?
If it's not a deep tech or legal-heavy product, start with the MVP, get the first few users, and get them to love the product (ideally to pay for it as well).
What's the business model?
How will this become a unicorn?
VCs are looking at 100x ROI. So if you are looking to raise at a $5M valuation and sell your company for $20M after several years, that could be a good outcome for YOU, but a bad outcome for the investors.
Do YOU have what it takes to take it to the next level (to Series A)?
Do YOU have what it takes to keep going through hurdles for years, to stay hungry and ambitious?
I want to see that you know what you're doing and talking about, and how you will 100x my investment.
Did I miss something? Let me know your thoughts.
