My appreciation of Bernard Hepton has only really become a thing in the last 5 years but my oh my he is great. Albert is one of those great classic complex TV characters - stunning.

Another #SecretArmy clip for a rainy day. This time from S1E13 Bait. Damn Angela Richards and Bernard Hepton are so good. Even in those quieter, smaller moments.

Born on this day in 1925, the incredibly talented Bernard Hepton who Secret Army fans of course know as Albert Foiret! Did you know Angela Richards and Bernard Hepton stared together in The Winslow Boy not long after Secret Army? I envy anyone who was lucky enough to see it!

The mighty Bernard Hepton would have been 101 today. Incredible to think that if Mike Hodges hadn't coaxed him back from his brief stint behind the camera to play Thorpey in Get Carter, we'd never have seen him in Colditz (also 54 years old today), Secret Army, Tinker Tailor...

And I think this storm took out the building used for the exterior shots of the windmill in Identity in Doubt!
#OnThisDay 16 October 1987 The Great Storm of 1987 wipes out power across London, forcing TV-am to broadcast from the continuity desk at Thames, and Nicholas Witchell from the BBC's 'broom cupboard'.

I don’t usually sit in front of live TV but I’m having a great time watching @TalkingPicsTV tonight! First, Maigret. Then, my first time watching Duchess of Duke Street. Really enjoyed it and recognised a young June Brown, Lalla Ward, etc.

Now on to The Killing of Sister George and Beryl Reid is playing a lesbian?! WTF. This is really mind blowing for someone who only knows Beryl Reid from the Doctor Who episode Earthshock! 😂 But I am loving that films about lesbians were made in the 60s. I had no idea! 🏳️‍🌈

I never thought that Talking Pictures showed LGBT+ productions so happily surprised. It’s taught me about an important piece of LGBT+ cinema history tonight. Thanks @TalkingPicsTV 💜

I'd like to note for people who may not know, it's FREE! I went expecting maybe a £30 ticket, but was amazed you could just walk right in. Of course, I easily spent way more on books in the gift shop. And am happy to support all the Imperial War Museums!

A day here is always a day well spent. Highly recommend checking out the ‘Wartime Art in London’ exhibition if you haven’t seen it already. Informative and stunning. iwm.org.uk/events/beauty-and…

Did you know Stephanie Cole donated boxes of stuff from her time filming Tenko to the theatre museum in Bristol? Behind scenes pics, notes & cards from other cast members etc. Free, but must book an apt & request the boxes in advance. Amazing experience. Took hours to see all!

The way Stephanie played Dr Mason was masterful. Hopelessly stuck in the closet, it was never explicitly stated but Stephanie's brilliant acting told you clearly.

Sad to hear Tenko actress Stephanie Cole has died. Beatrice Mason was great LGBT+ representation. I met her briefly in 2019 when she gave a talk in Bristol, where she spoke about a teacher she didn’t get on with. In the Q&A a woman over 90 raised her hand…it was the teacher! 😂

Last night I went to see Pressure at the cinema. Tonight I’m revisiting the D-Day episode of The World at War.
