The World Cup coming to Seattle is now only three months away. How ready are we for hosting the equivalent of multiple Super Bowls? And what does this all mean in terms of social, cultural and economic impact? Our great March Block Table panel on the World Cup consisted of Leo Flor from the Seattle WC Organizing Committee, Beth Knox, prez and CEO of the Seattle Sports Commission, Kylie Rolf, the Director of World Cup Operations in the mayor's office, and Eric Goodman, the ED of the SODO BIA, with moderator Art Thiel, who has long been our most insightful chronicler and commentator on all things Seattle sports. A really interesting and informative conversation! Special thanks to @SeattleChannel for coming out to cover the panel - if you're interested, the video is available for streaming on their YouTube channel (link in the next tweet).

Big thx to newly ensconced Seattle City Council prez @CMJoyHollings for agreeing to be our guest at the January Block Table, next Tuesday (the 20th) evening at 5:30 pm at the Rabbit Box at Pike Place Market. I'll be moderating, and we'll talk about where the Council prez sees things heading over the next year, what the Council's big issues and priorities are going to be, how she envisions her role at the helm of an ideologically split governing body, how the Council's relationship with @wilsonformayor is likely to go, and a lot more. Come swill a drink or two with us if you're so inclined -- I'll put the link to get full details in the follow up tweet. Also, special thanks to @SeattleChannel for coming out to cover the proceedings.
